John and I are headed out later to the Delaware City Day celebration about 1/2 an hour from here. It's on the banks of the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal. Dinner is on the schedule for later in the day and here is where we will be stuffing our faces It's a new restaurant named Crabby Dick's. The website is a riot and I heard the food is great, too. Time for some crabs, clams, oysters and absolutely have to try the crab balls , http://www.crabby-dicks.com/home.htm

Who could pass up reading a comment like that? I won't be in Delaware today nor am I crabby or a dick (I don't think), and I won't be eating crab or --- the other today. I will however be going to the Worlds Largest One Day Fish Fry in Port Washington Wi.. Your menu looks light years better, but this is right in town and there is a parade and live music all over the city. Have a great day. Jimy

I just clicked on the "tour" button of the Crabby Dick's website and had to laugh at message on their bar stools. I wonder how many men will be fighting to sit on them? Jimy, have a great day at the Fish Fry. Sounds like a cool time with better music than we are gonna be exposed to. There is going to be a Cher impersonator at Delaware City Day....sheesh. Ya jealous yet?

That's kind of funny about the crab balls.... My mom and I have an inside joke about that very thing...we went to a seafood place that was take out...and we both wanted to get them (crab)...and she kept saying, while nudging my arm, "Is there anything else you want?". We never got them because neither of us could bring ourselves to say it.

Well, Nani I am happy to report that the seaman's sauce was yummy. Wish you could have been with us to enjoy it. Crab imperial was so-so. Crab cakes were good but nothing to write home about. The best ones are made by my Great Aunt Mil so, IMHO, no other crab cakes even come close. My brother and I got her a little tipsy on a few extra glasses of wine one night and managed to get her to blurt out the "secret family crab cake recipe". The crab balls, however were yummy and Brew, luckily they were served without the legs so no need to use the "moth ball method" to get their little legs apart.

OOh for crying out loud! I'll bite.......what's seaman sauce.....I know it's not, well, you know what, although it's been appropriately used under the conditions here. Edited to add: Nani........that's kind of personal......having crabs once. We won't tell or hold it against you. We love you too much.

Thanks, Donna. You know, even dipping them in melted butter didn't help. [There's a link in the first post to the restaurant. If you click on the menu tab, and then on the starters menu, you'll see where that came from.]
