Here's an odd question.  If I was to go to jail any idea how they would treat my cluster headaches.  I'm chronic so it wouldn't be out of cycle or anything ...

No clue. You might want to ask your lawyer to find out for you.

Sorry about what is happening. Our friend Krista who rides with us is a guard at a Medium Security Prison near our town here in Ontario, Canada and she was educated on Cluster Headaches for her job.

I do not know how it is where you are from but start looking into it NOW!!

Can not imagine being in jail with the beast. Best of luck and maybe someone else has some input.

Take care,

I can't imagine, hence the question.  Seriously concerned.  It wouldn't be for a long time.  Just a violation of probation.

My husband and I do prison ministry for our church.  I know of many personal cases where it was months before the person was able to get in and see a dr and get meds was like near impossible.  Then they were like either over or under medicated for their condition.

The San Diego version of your question....you'd get booked, request to be put on doctor visit.....a week or 2 later, depending on the volume of patients, you might get in to see a doctor.

You can't bring anything from the outside except for your written prescriptions. Those may or may not be useful depending on the motivation level of the doctor seeing you. That's on the local level. State prison has their act a little more together because they have medical staff assigned to the facilities as opposed to our local facilities that contract out for their medical services.....to the lowest bidder of course.

Try and get your attorney to get something on the minute orders...(the papers they send to jail with you)..indicating you need immediate medical care for your CH. Might help speed things along. This is all San Diego info but things seem to be pretty consistent these days as most of the jail regulations are federal. Good luck to you.

It's not guaranteed i'm going to jail.  My probation officer is trying to determine whether or not he will violate me for neglecting my Community Service.  He has actually requested that I give him information oncluister headaches and he will make his decision through there.  I may even just get house arrest.  My probation was for a dry reckless driving ticket.  No a murderer or anything.  I live in Kansas apparently they take dry reckless very serious.  I would have got diversion but, they denied because of two fights that I was charged with in San Diego (what a coincidence).  I was never charged, always dropped when I initially went to court.  However, the people in Kansas seemed to feel that I needed to be put in the system ...

I feel I need to give you a better background.  The fights I got in were when I was 22 and 23.  It's been along time.  The reckless driving was a stupid thing to do.  I was actually driving during an attack and couldn't go fast enough to get home and apparently not straight enough either.  I haven't been in a physical altercation in 5 or 6 years.  I'm more concerned about the initial part of incarceration.  I've never been to jail in my life.  Even nif i go to jail the most PO said he'd ask for is 10 days.

You need to pull over and ride it out, you will spend many years in jail if you kill someone.

The last time I got hit while driving I spent an hour pacing around my truck in a rest area in the freezing rain....got some real funny looks from people pulling into the drivethru.....LOL Grin

Im not trying to preach to you, man....its just that I have been doing this for over 30 years.

I was in a Dutch jail for several hours-the arrest was a mistake-and the Dutch police let me take my meds with me (they held them) and gave me some when I got hit.  When I was released they drove me home, stopped at a gas station and bought me cigarettes and a Coke-nice guys (except at the beginning when one cop pointed his Glock at me, shoved me against the wall and handcuffed me and then led me out of my hotel in just my jogging pants!).  If you have to get arrested, Holland is the place to be! The women and small animals were very happy when I was released Roll Eyes!  In The Netherlands, it is against the law to turn down an offer from a woman.  Last year, a farmer was arrested for having sex with his cows; to the embarassment of the Dutch legal system, they discovered that there were no laws against beastiality!  He was let go, but shortly after a law was finally passed-tolerance has its limits Tongue.
