Something for me.

I think I read of one of my cluster sisters starting this, and I found out today, that one of my customers is starting free Tia Chi classes down at Phiffner Park starting next Tuesday.

They have never been offered in the area to the public, only as a paid class at the UW.  My customer has, as of yesterday has her certification now to teach it, and she owns the premire day spa in WI.  I went to High School with her, and I've seen her business grow from a little hole in the wall in an office next to the Post Office to purchasing a 4 acre Villa and growing her business and renovating a local historical mansion.

What I plan to get out of this class is nothing more than a sence of internal mind/body/spirit balance.  When winter comes I'll probably pay for the whole Tia Chi and Qi Gong she is now offering and I don't even know what Qi Gong is yet.

Alternative treatment has forced a very welcome streach of PF time.  A couple blips in the screen, but nothing I couldn't re-cage before it got the best of me.

I don't consider myself in remission, just successfully medicated, as maintanance is still key to continueing this path.

Now I'm totally ready to come out of hiding and do something for the rest of my health.  I'm doing something for ME and it feels great just thinking about it.  I can't wait to feel the difference when I start next Tuesday.

Wish me Luck?

Congratulations!  We all need something for ourselves.  Something to feel good about.  My wife talked me into practicing Yoga last September.  I hope you enjoy Ti Chi as much as I enjoy my practice.

Good for you!  I've been using a dvd to practice and it is a good feeling. Admittedly so, its difficult for me to slow my thoughts and actions down to that level, but that's part of why I wanted to learn Tai Chi.

Somethng else that's fun to learn as a "ME time" activity.... bellydancing!

Best of Luck to ya Redd!

Redd,
I've been doing Tai Chi now for about 2 years.  The benefits: better balance, more gracefulness, focus, even a bit of weight loss.  An unexpected side benefit-very useful as a child control device.  Works this way: Mom: "If you don't knock it off I WILL Tai Chi"  Both sons and daughter (with fear stricken looks) "No mom, not that!"
Problem with Tai Chi-it is very slow so if you intend to use it for self-defense you must get your attacker to stand still whilst you slowly and gracefully make your way to them. Grin

Have fun Redd, and I hope it helps

Deb Adams is now certified in Tai Chi?  Wow, all that lady DOES is work!

Well, I wanted to do Tai Chi myself, but that fell through due to other circumstances (like hubby being laid off), so I'm sure I'll try it in the future.  Well, either that or a yoga class.

Have fun and let me know how you liked it!

The classes I'm starting are FREE Mel.  Just show up at the Park at 5PM on Tuesdays weather permitting.
