The name "Kip"..........

I see newbies using the Kip scale in their posts. I personally wish that they knew where that name came from. We have a button in the margin marked "kip scale" It gives the scale of pain, but no mention of our dear friend Kip. He was a one of a kind, special person and anyone who met him was touched by his particular personality. Could we please make reference to his memorial? What say, DJ?

The KIP scale to the left of screen, second paragraph. “Our friend Mr. Bob Kipple was up late with the demon late one night and put the pain that we had been speaking of into what has affectionately been named The Kip Scale. I think you'll agree that what he's written down is right on the money.” I agree more should be known about Bob, he gave us the basis by which we can effectively communicate where we are at with our pain & considering the medical fraternity is now starting to use the KIP scale themselves. Speaking as a newbie Bob Kipple's importance to this community hasn't been lost on me. After the 1st time reading the kip scale reference on the left and DJ's comments, it didn't take much digging to find loads of posts including the thread that followed his passing. The testimonials in that thread alone brought into sharp focus his contribution and what he meant to folks around here. I'm sorry he passed before I joined but rest assured that his legacy is clear to those that care to look. -Dennis-

Excelent post, Dennis! Bob was a really cool old dude, he even came up with "Cool 02"......where you run your 02 hose into a cooler of ice, you coil it a bunch of times and then out the other side........man, cool 02 works so much better for me. It was great to meet him a few times! RIP Kip

He had to be a good man and an even better husband. I read at the O.U.C.H. newspaper that his dear Wife passed the way just a very few days after him. She could not survive another day without him . That is what I call "Eternal Love" in its own real meaning... God bless them!

I am honored to say that I met him and his darling wife at the Nashville convention. What an awesome couple! They are looking down on us, and watching our backs, right now! Chuck

Wow Rosy, I didn't catch that in my reading up on Bob. Thanks for sharing it. I guess you really can die of a broken heart. Romantic and sad at the same time. -Dennis-

There is a Country song by the name "I wanna be Loved like that" The Kipples may not have been the inspiration for that song, but they should have been.
