Paula Abdul...WHAT is going on???

Last week, in the very early morning hours, (approx 1or 2am), I watched the new show "Hey Paula"...
Her behavior was so bizarre she appeared to be psychotic. I felt extremely saddened and embarassed for her...something is very, very wrong.
I can't pinpoint what exactly is going on...she's obviously exhausted, but there's definately more to it...it appears to be some type of drugs.
I know she is going through a rough time...but to televize it??? Now is the time to check in the hospital for "extreme exhaustion"...uh hmm. People keep saying she's drunk...but I don't think it's alchohol.
Just wondering if anyone else has any thoughts on her.

I haven't seen Paula's show (it's not shown in Finland...yet), but one of our national daily newspapers did print a story about her yesterday.
According to that piece her show is all about clearing her name after continuing rumors about turmoil in her personal life. Aguess, then, her problems are harder to hide.

She did an interview recently and she claimed to be on some kind of meds that are affecting her.

They sure are Patrick. Im just surprised me her publicist (sp?) allowed her to go on a live satallite interview and accept a prestigous award in the condtion she is....she was making no sense, slurring...she was SWATTING at the air...she was having many "Anna Nicole Smith" moments.
I am just interested in other's takes on what is wrong, or if Im wrong in my perception of how big it is...I truly feel for anyone acting out like that...especially in the public eye.
It would be bad enough facing family, friends and co-workers like that...she is is pain...and I was wondered if the cause was made public? During that show, she mentioned that she was no longer on "American Idol" (I don't watch that show)and kept taking shots at Simon...who would be very difficult to tolerate for anyone.

Is that TRUE?? (she was uh "banging" a contestant???) That is funny...I think she's blacked out on Benzo's...she say's some crazy sh*t...The cringe factor was off the chart when I was watching her...in fact I was blushing FOR her...poor Paula.
