Happily Back at Home!

Here we are, back in rainy Jyväskylä. After taking one train from Helsinki to Järvenpää I waited for 40 minutes when Timo went to get the guinea pigs. We took another train from Järvenpää to Riihimäki and waited at the station for over an hour for third train to Tampere. And at very rainy Tampere we had to change yet to another train before getting to Jyväskylä. And then it was just 10 minutes walk with loads of stuff to home. So it takes 7 hours to get from Helsinki to Jyväskylä if you have to stop by at Järvenpää at this particular time. With direct train the journey lasts about 3 hours. Now, I've had a bite to eat, the guinea pigs are nicely back at their gage, my back bag is unpacked and Timo is listening to his new Willie Nelson cd. Yesterday evening's fever is gone, my throat doesn't ache anymore and my runny nose stopped running. But I still have cold left, but I'll be fine. I'm so happy that I got sick really on our last day, so it didn't spoil the holiday. We had terrific time! Warm thank you to you, Helen, and your lovely family! We had great time with you lot. Thanks to the final evening's game of football Timo got back his joy for the game; he has not felt that way in years! I think that mum got jealous when she heard of all the delicious foods we had at Cluster Inn. And I'm so thankful for my "survival kit"!Thank you so much for it. I hope that the soups and noodles last longer than just end of this month... Dape, warm greetings to your family, too! It was great to meet you all. Timo took over 700 pictures during our trip, so there's plenty of them! I don't know how many I took, but something like 200 is pretty close. I'll promise that I will post some of them later this week. Lizzie, thank you for your wonderful card! It was so great to come home and find a card from you waiting there. That was lovely welcome greeting! And what made me particularly happy was that I didn't get hit, yahoo! I got regular headache once and well, that cold, but no clusters. So here we are, happily back in home, live and kicking! hugs & pf wishes to all, Sanna

Glad you're home safely Sanna. Sorry I didn't get to meet you at Helens'. The invite from Helen came just a bit too late for me to arrange, although it was appreciated. Maybe one day! Mike

Welcome Home Sanna. It's always good to visit and take a holiday, but it also feels good to come home. Can't wait for pictures.

Thank you, guys! Rosybabe, I think that our guinea pigs were fine; they look so much bigger now! Or maybe it's just my imagination... I sure missed them a lot and so did Timo. Mike, ever since I first arrived to London back in 1997, I fell in love with the city and I've been back many times (1998, 2001-2004) before this trip - and I can promise you that I will be coming back! Timo and I have been talking about moving abroad one of these days, but I cannot be sure where yet. I'm not sure if UK could handle another clusterhead for good... Dape, I hope that the beast left me for good, I would not mind that at all! The only "good" thing about cold is that usually during one the beast leaves me be. And I promise, I will post those pics soon. I just have to locate one camera wire first... Sanna
