My second best girl (10 yr. old Mika) and best girl Linda have decided that they would like to join me for my first PGR mission since moving to Texas.

I was not going to take my grandbaby to this one as I think it is going to be sad without the excitement of a long escort as the Funeral Home is right next to the cemetery. After explaining why PaPa was getting up early and going out when I don't have to work until the evening she said she would like to go and show her respects also.

 I am stoked Smiley........Tim

Mika seems to be a very kind, caring and compassionate little lady......be proud, very proud.

Glad to hear you are going to be flanked by two wonderful and supportive ladies and a group that deserves more recognition than they have gotten, The PGR.

Be a proud PaPa and also be proud of those who have raised her to be such an amazing little one....your family!
Mika is a wonderful reflection on all of you. Smiley

Thank you, Mika.  We need more young ladies like you in this world.

I am stoked with ya Tim.  Good for her.

I truly think that even though she's young, the emotional good of seeing the PGR with flags flying and showing the upmost respect and honor to a fallen soldier.... FAR  outweighs any negative fears you may have had.

I had to look it up (Patriot Guard Riders) but my hats off to you tanner.  Obviously your respect for those that server our nation has been passed down to your children.  Congratulations on a job well done!

Mission Accomplished!

We are back from our morning mission to pay respect to Sgt. Daniel Soto of Houston, TX. and to convey our thanks and condolences to his family.

Mika and Linda were big time troopers to make it through what turned out to be a very long and very sad service. Danny left a young wife and baby behind when he gave his all for his adopted country.

Mika stood with her flag shoulder to shoulder with the rest of us through a torrential downpour that could not have come at a worse time. I told her it was the Angels weeping for the loss of another Hero.

She was honored at the end by being given 2 mission accomplished pins as well as a special pin that Danny's family had asked the funeral director to give to the guard.

Here she is at the staging area waiting out the first rain which only got much worse when we got to the service. As Danny is of Hispanic descent the graveside service was extra long and very heart wrenching. In his culture it is common practice to remain while the casket is lowered and covered with flowers. A touch that reduced almost all of us to blubbering big crybabies.

Mika is now an official member of the Texas PGR and wants to attend as many missions as are necessary. Too many Cry

I will now get ready for work and try to come to grips with the emotional drain that is somehow so uplifting.

My very best regards to all who read this.......Tim

Awww.  How great is that?  But now you've got me blubbering.  I do it everytime they play taps at one of the missions I go on too.  I am so glad she got to experience that Tim.

I am glad She got to share this experience, It teaches the young ones to value life and patriotism.
My husband is thinking to join PGR, He just got a Honda and He is also a veteran and his son is a Marine. He just got a very busy schedule, long hours of work and weekend school but He for sure would like to do something about it.

I just hope your little girl does not get sick with all that rain, poor little thing, give her some warm tea and a big hug! Smiley

God bless Sgt. Daniel Soto and bring closure to his family.
