Character building

As a photographer and the father off the bassist, I recently had the dubious pleasure of shooting my son's Death Metal band(www.myspace.com/viatrophy) whilst 'enjoying' the full impact of a Kip8. It wasn't so much the sound (20kw sound system) but the lights that made it really 'interesting'. Oh and being accidentally punched in the head by one of the kids moshing. Still, I got great shots and have asked the band to title one of their songs "Cluster Headache" (the lyrics don't matter - no one can make head or tail of them anyway.   Most of all though, the experience was character building. If you can live through that, you can live through anything!!!

According to the myspace page, you named your son 'Toss'. Your wife was OK with that?

I think the band have all been renaming themselves! Brewcrew, he is a phenomenal jazz player (loves/can play almost as good as Victor Wooten) and also excellent with various funk styles. And he has a bass clef tattooed on his arm. Plays ESP 4 string and a 6 string also has an Ibanez 6 string and a Fender P bass. I am desperately envious of his talent. I play guitar but strictly G-C-D stuff. Hell, I'd be prepared to give up these fine headaches just to play like him!!!
