Yep, the last thing I thought I'd ever him say. I said yes, and now I'm planning everything. Any computer sites and advice would be appreciated, esp. the women's advice. This is his first marriage and my second. Thanks, Leah.

Be that as it may, congratulations! When we planned our wedding, there was no such thing as a website. My advice - if anybody other than the two of you might be financing your wedding, offer to take 50 cents on the dollar in cash of what they were going to spend and elope. I think your stomach lining will thank you.

We are common-law married, just not offically. We went from girlfriend-boyfriend to legally married by me living here for 5 years. My name appears on documents as married. I still use my maiden last name. Now I get a pretty ring and wedding pictures.Thanks for the info. I didn't mean to confuse.

I have a suggestion! go to the Justice of the Peace! no wedding, it saves a lot of headache  and you can spend more on the honeymoon! 
but whatever you do, Congrats!! I truly wish you a happy marriage...BTW, it took 7 years for my husband to finally ask me to marry him....how long did it take your fiance?

Advise? if you have a budget stick with it, don't regret it later. Make a wedding that will make YOU happy not your guests.

Luckily, kevin's mom will pay for the honeymoon in Cancun. His father will pay for the wedding, so we have to plan everything else. Being that this is his first wedding, he insists on the whole preacher thing. I like the flowers and all too. Does he realize the planning involved? I think so....

get marry in a botanical garden or rent the gardens of a beautiful home, you get the flowers (butterflies included) , the little gazebo for the wedding and your your bridemaids get to wear beautiful sundresses 
Oh, I just realize you are here in Houston, I guess the wedding outside its out,  it is just to damn hot here! get air conditioned!

At our reception my mom gave a toast that mentioned of all the people in this room, ONLY BREW didn't know we were eventually getting married . . .everyone but him saw it coming!

my 2cents: don't do the justice of the peace. Darryl and I did (he insisted- as he does with everything!) and I guess I'll always be disappointed. Make it beautiful for yourselves, not a show for your guests and you'll have memories for a lifetime.
