I had to take a day to gather myself. I am sure you have all heard about this, but I needed a friendly place to get some shoulder space. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/19/us/19cnd-charleston.html?ex=1197864000 &en=3cb3850dde57f14a&ei=5087&excamp=OVGNsouthcarolinafire I didn't know any of them personally but I know why they went back in. If there is even a small chance to save someone you just do it and pray you make it home. I hope to just send a few extra vibes to there families and friends. Mike

The victims, their ages and their years of service are: -- Capt. William "Billy" Hutchinson, 48 (30 years) -- Capt. Mike Benke, 49 (29 years) -- Capt. Louis Mulkey, 34 (11½ years) -- Engineer Mark Kelsey, 40 (12½ years) -- Engineer Bradford "Brad" Baity, 37 (9 years) -- Assistant engineer Michael French, 27 (1½ years) -- Firefighter James "Earl" Drayton, 56 (32 years) -- Firefighter Brandon Thompson, 27 (4 years) -- Firefighter Melven Champaign, 46 (2 years) God Bess Them ALL. When I'm called to duty God wherever flames may rage give me strength to save a life whatever be its age Help me to embrace a little child before it is too late or save an older person from the horror of that fate Enable me to be alert to hear the weakest shout and quickly and efficiently to put the fire out I want to fill my calling and to give the best in me to guard my neighbor and protect his property And if according to your will I have to lose my life bless with your protecting hand my children and my wife Author Unknown

Each and everyone of them is a hero...may they rest in peace I'll never forget the footage of the World Trade Center when everyone was running away from the building and the Firefighters were running right into it. That's got to be the most courageous thing I've ever seen. Jim

Yes, Mike, I've been following the news on it. It's tragic. So many good men who were all well-trained and experts at their jobs. God Bless them, and God bless you for doing the same job. Stay safe, my friend. Sandy

All these brave men were heroes and they already won their place in heaven. God bless them all and bring closure to their families.
