On Thursday my dog Jade looked a little funny to me but I was working on the yard then it got late so I put her to sleep (she and her sister Xena sleep in the garage in the summer)the next day Fri. I let her out and I noticed she was running into stuff turns out shes gone blind (shes 8 years old)I'm taking her in tomorrow to the vet I hope it's not to serious I feel so bad it's so sad watching a totally energetic dog that can't walk 2 feet without walking into something. Wish me luck.

sorry to hear the news MR_FLOOR

but you will be surprised how quickly they adapt (as long as you dont re arrange furniture to often).

I had a labrador that went blind when he was about 10yrs of age. Learnt where the pool edge was by the width of the pebble crete so as to get a drink and where the food bowl was always kept. ran around the house like normal, just not as quickly.

Dave, as turts said, do not change anything in the house. Animals have a keen sense about them and will adapt to this in time. Sorry you have to deal with this.

Dave:

Sorry for the hardship of the family pet.  Hopefully, it's something that will pass with time, if not, I hope that you all can adapt and have lots of sloppy kisses from man's best friend.

Wishing for the best,

Ray

Sorry you're having to deal with this but dogs do handle this kind of thing well. They aren't like us. They live in the present and aren't expecting much other than love and dinner, a nap and more dinner.

They give us so much.

Let us know how things work out.
