I've had interesting conversations about national culinary treats. Here's some of Finland's finest. Which one you'd like to try? Fazer's chocolate or Karjalan piirakka (karelian rise pastry) or Hernekeitto (Pea soup) or Ruisleipä (Rye bread)

Can I try them all (not necessarily in that order)?

| Sure, why not? Rye bread goes nicely with pea soup and chocolate makes nice dessert. Whereas we usually eat Karelian rise pastries with some butter or so called egg butter, which is made of boiled and chopped eggs, butter and some cottage cheese. Sanna

All of the above, except the rye bread. I have some aversion to rye. Yesterday I made BBQ Grill Pizza for a few visitors. An example pic from the net... I make mine a lot darker... more like Brick Oven Pizza.

Aside from the desserts, that pea soup looks good. Rye bread would work too, especially if it's like Swedish rye. Yum. Charlie

Id like to try them all but the choky I will only be able to look at & remember when I used to be able to eat it (Oh the beast can be such a shit some times). This is a favourite South Australian dish called Pie Floater; it’s a meat pie floating in green pea soup with plenty of tomato sauce on it. Brilliant in cold weather. Cheer Barry

I fancy the soup myself - not big on bread and I am so not a chocolate fan LOL I'll settle for some cloudberries instead Sanna I have a bit of a thing about peas - when I was expecting Jasper i was eating mushy peas and mint sauce every single day - my ex was convinced I was going to have a green baby! (hmm.. mushy peas and mint sauce - I'll be right back!)

| Ok then, Helen! I'm off to the nearest swamp to check if this summer's cloudberries are ready! What comes to mushy peas, I have similar thing for carrots. I eat them all the time! My friends tell me that it was carrots which turned my brown hair red... Charlotte, that pizza looks yummy indeed! I love pizzas... Off to check if my chopped meat pasta sauce is done! Sanna
