I agree 1,000% ---What the hell has happened to our country ? Have we become " so politically correct" That we are going to allow people to belittle the kids that are dying for this country at their burials? Bullshit.....Vietnam was a war we never should have been in , but when we were called----we went. I don't care whether you agree with President Bush or not---These kids have Mothers and Fathers , Brothers, Sisters, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, who are grieving---anyone who protests them should be arrested and held in jail for a very long time. Where are everyone's voices.........Simply watch the Lehr News Hour on ANY PBS Channel each evening... They end the broadcast with a silent photo and identification of "OUR" young men and women who have died in the past few days..........and I am proud to tell you that I cry each and every evening!

It seems that most people are satisfied with shit being shoveled down their throat, Scott.
They complain about the Iraq war, but say nothing on the invasion of this country, go figure!

The brief version is that the Sarpy county Sheriffs in Bellevue (location of Offutt AFB) arrested a minor for trampling the flag at a protest outside the base gates. The arrest was made when the mother gave her son a flag and he threw it on the ground and began kicking it and stomping on it. Nebraska has a statute on the books forbidding the defiling or destruction of the flag. The adults carefully avoiding doing so because they knew it was illegal but thought no one would arrest a child - they were wrong. The irony of the case is the mother had a US flag tied around her waist - and let her son trample a second one. She plans to appeal the charge and will try to have the statute repealed. She will be doing alot of traveling back and forth from KS in order to do so (and based on the legal talking heads won't stand much of a chance since the event occurred right next to the base and in an area full of military families) And the part that wasn't on the news, was the details that were all standing by and escorting the funeral to ensure that no protesters got close to the funeral or the family.
The second one is the arrest of a Russian truck driver for being unable to communicate in English. In Nebraska, there is a state law forbidding immigrant drivers if they can't speak or understand the English language, it's a safety issue as they need to be able to understand road signs and warnings and state troopers.
When you are in Sarpy County, the sheriff's take every call and every law very seriously, and will lay charges at every opportunity. They leave little to nothing to chance here, and they rather enjoy making examples of cases.
