Sent my daughter to the store yesterday to pick up a few things for dinner. On the list: Milk, Trashbags and Chicken Legs. The phone rings and it's Katie telling me she cannot find chicken legs. She can find all the other chicken parts, but can't find the legs. I told her to look and if she couldn't find them to ring the bell and ask the Butcher. Phone rings again. Katie still hasn't found the chicken legs and hasn't talked to the Butcher because she can't find him either. I just repeat myself, telling her the store always has chicken legs, she can find them, I have confidnece she will find them. Phone rings a third time. Yes, it's Katie.............I swear she has a blond streak........she tells me she still can't find the chicken legs, but she found some drumsticks, could she get those instead? I told her that would be just fine. LOL My husband gets home and I tell him the story. He thinks it's pretty funny. He goes inside and the drumsticks/chicken legs are sitting on the counter. He says loud enough for Katie to hear "Drumsticks!" "I wanted chicken legs!" Katie, very sincerely says " I know Dad, I tried to get chicken legs, but all they had were drumsticks." "I even called Mom." Kids, gotta love them they make me laugh every day. Beth

At least Katie brought home some part of the chicken.... Several years ago while living in CT I was at a local grocery chain checking out my groceries and the bright young cashier held up one of my items and asked "What's this?"..... I replied..... "An onion." LOL with warm regards, Tony

Thanks for that. Hilarious. Reminds me of the newbies we used to break in at the parts store when we told them to get a muffler bearing. My Grandmother loved the news, especially Walter Klondike. Mom would never let us tell her. Charlie

Really cute! Reminds me of my first job (14) when the boss told me to go in the back room and bring him a bucket of steam pronto. I hunted all over the damn place, but could not find one. Finally went up to him asked him where exactly in the back room I could find a bucket of steam. He laughed so hard I thought he would choke. 50 years later, I still find it funny.

Have heard a few head shaking comments over the years..... I was at a local hardware store one day and overheard a conversation between one of the employees and a customer. When the employee asked the lady if she needed help she replied, "Yes. Where can I find some elbow grease? My husband said if I used some while refinishing my antique desk, it would make my job a lot easier." The second story is courtesy of my Mom. Mom and my Step-Dad had gone ocean fishing a few years ago. When they returned home, Mom called me just to chat and then told me about this "strange fish" that she caught. Mom gave a brief description of the fish, said that she would probably pan fry it for dinner and then said that she had never heard of this kind of fish before. I asked Mom if Vic, my Step-Dad was able to identify what kind of fish it was and Mom replied, "Yes. He called it a Keeper".

Ok I need to steal this story and pass it on. Giving all due credit of course, but this is too precious not to pass on to people I know. I can see my kids saying the EXACT same thing.

Well, back in here our stores stock up products with both titles (chicken legs and drumsticks) so Katie would have had easier grocery shopping time. I'm nearly afraid what kind of tiny stories and anecdotes one of my aunts is gathering. She recalls everything and has the guts to share them...

| Reminds me of when I was young & the supervisor sent me to the store for a long wait & three hours later they let me in on the joke.
