I just got my first 02 Delivery in seven years...the problem is the M tank valve doesnt' have a plastic ring around the neck where in attaches to the tank like it used to... I have an empty M tank with the valve on it and and of course, a full one that NEEDS that valve. Looks like I need a wrench(??) Does anyone Know...and could you please specify tool and size...I will have to borrow it and will need to ask. Thanks. Thoughtfully, Sherri

P.S. - there's also some type of black "collar" at the top of the tank...something I didn't have before either..

Sherri - Don't even think about trying to move it from one to the other. The oxygen company should have done that for you. Call them and kindly request that they send someone to immediately make sure it's set up properly. If all that o2 were to vent quickly, it may not kill you, but the resulting fire sure would (pilot lights, etc.). Pure o2 causes things that are flammable to burn much, much quicker and much, much hotter. We doesn't want nuthin' bad to happens to ya.

Bill, Thank YOU!! Naturally, I have been trying to figure it out...hanging on it...it will not budge...it's on so tightly. Why, I wonder, didn't they just bring both with valves on? When I used to get air, there was a green plastic ring around the "bolt" that I could turn with my hand. This is hell...I don't know what's worse-no 02 or a full tank that I cannot use. Thanks again. Sherri

Chuck, Seven years ago, it was possible to switch the valves with turning a ring...they made it possible. The valve is on so tightly...like a tire is to a car. Without a doubt, I need a tool to turn it. E tank valves have improved immensely. Easy as hell to change due to new valves. I'll explain it to you when you call. Thanks for your help.

DUH!!! LOL .. Sldrswyfe is actually talking about changing the REGULATOR not the VALVE!!! LOL OK, I helped her over the phone. She needs to get a wrench for the regulator. Chuck

Ah, ha! What we had here was a failure to communicate. Yes, I have to use a crescent wrench to take the regulator off my M tanks as well.

Thanks for your help Chuck...and advertising my lack of mechanical knowledge and terminology. It would've been nice of O2 co. to expain all of this to me and leave me the proper tools! Thanks for both of you...Bill and Chuck for taking the time to respond. S
