Mom Says Thanks :) ( Updated )

Mom had her procedures yesterday morning. They used cameras to check if there were any blood clots in her heart. The test went fine and there weren't any clots. Then they shocked her heart 1 time and set it back into perfect rythm. The heart rate has been slow (in the 40's) but they are still adjusting medications to help that. Overall, things went great and we expect her to be able to return home tomorrow.

Thanks for all the prayers (and candles) ... they must have worked because all went well. No need for a pacemaker as of right now.

Thanks all

I may have spoken too soon.  Undecided

The docs came in this evening to my moms hospital room and said if the heart rate doesn't go up with the medications that they will put in a pacemaker on Friday morning.  Sad

Her heart rate is in the 40's now. She's too tired and sleeping alot.

Will a pacemaker increase heart rate ?

Thanks everyone!

A pacemaker can increase or decrease a heart rate depends on how it is set. It can be adjusted again and again if necessary.

My aunty had a pace maker put in 5 years ago and she is fine. They check and calibrate her pacemaker twice a year.

Praying that your Moms heart will get stronger and start to beat faster so that she wont need the pace maker. But if she does, its not dangerous or bad.

Hugs and prayers and vibes and lots of love going your way.

Glad your mom is doing well and give the drugs and the docs a chance.

If your Mom is having trouble adjusting her heart rate only with medications, a pacemaker is the way to go..
I will keep praying so she has a very successful procedure.
