Life is never dull

My oldest son Alex (15) is in Childrens Hospital and will be there for an unspecified period of time until we can determine the cause of his seizures.
On top of that, if any of you know of any lawyers that specialize in teens and the gov't I need to hear from you. The Sarpy County District Attorney is planning on pressing charges against Alex, what charges they haven't said and his court date is set for the 7 of May - the first we knew of that was today when a certain detective Feeney contacted us and requested us to sign permission for them to have access to his medical records. Of course the phone call came literallyu right on the heels of us learning that Alex would need hospitalization. Homeland security and uttering terroristic threats and all that came up, but I have no other specifics.
I just need a lawyer, someone who knows something about this kind of thing and doesn't charge a fortune, we aren't exactly wealthy people.
I'll update as I can, but right now my plate is pretty full.

Wow, never met a "good" lawyer. I did have one that got me custody of my kid. Sounds pretty serious. Don't we have the right to see what we ones charged with these days??

Sorry you are going through all of this. Have you ever contacted your local epilepsy foundation? Unfortunately I am all too familiar with seizures....a cousin and my hubby have epilepsy (8 years seizure free, thank God). A cause was never found for my hubby's seizures, and all too often a cause is never found.
Not knowing any specifics, they may even be able to advise you or recommend a lawyer for your son. Good luck to you and your family.

So sorry you have to deal with seizures and all the rest.
Get some legal help of course but SAY NOTHING more...Absolutely nothing to the police. That's the lawyer's job.
I've done some embarrassing things when having my seizures too but so far lucky to have not been hauled away. I get run down by merchants when they catch me "shoplifting" when I forget that I have something in my hand. Nothing like this though.
Lots of Epilepsy Foundation information is good as well as other sites. The more backup for you the better. Anything to show that you are involved in dealing with it and are asking for all the help you can get.
