Not new to my condition of "12 years"
The People on this site are abusive with their wit or inappropriate comments or veterans knowing it all. It seams this site voices in sarcasm, hostility, or belligerence! Always easier to point a finger than lift a helping hand. I have spent years researching CH in and out of this country.

I think you are generalizing WAY too much..

everyone is entitled to his opinion but you coming here and saying  :

means everyone is acting like that..

Perhaps he was a bit intemperate with his post, but this is a response to a post as a NEWBIE that didn;t know sinusbuster had been dealt with a number of times.  He got flamed and totally dissed for trying to share his experience TRYING an advertized remedy that happens to advertize on this site.  Cut him some slack.

I realize we tend to be impatient due to our own pain and problems, but at least take the time to see who is posting and what the background is behind it.  It is a good thing this place is so anonymous, because I doubt most of you would have the balls to respond to me personally to my face the way you respond to new posters or to those who ask tolerance or decorum in your postings.

Flame away.  He has a very valid point.

Another opportunity for everyone to take a deep breath, look around and remember why DJ created this board.  Please try and remember when you were still new and confused and everytime you cycled off you figured you had found the cure!!! Whether it was smearing peanut butter on your nose, giving up coffee or drinking extract of a caterpillar. You figured you had found the cure and told everyone so.  Only to have your heart broke 4 months later when they came back.

We need to stay somewhat vigilant cuz the Trolls are out there, but it wouldn't hurt to cut the newer people some slack. I've always taught my trainees, it's much easier to start out at a low level and go to flaming as the situation escalates. When you start out at flaming....there's really no where else to go. Just Guiseppi's 2 cents worth.

WOW!!!

What an abrasive, condemming post!

Yes, we can be mean and nasty.  Yes we can be rude and crude.  Yes we can be inappropriate with our comments and wit.  All of that is true.

BUT, take some time to get to know the people here.  You won't find bigger hearts or more caring people.  We TRUELY want to help our fellow sufferers, and supporters.  We care deeply.  We are a very vocal group.

We are dealing with hell on earth.  Maybe we do fly off at the wrong times.  But we are very protective of each other, and for any newbies that come here.  We DON'T want any newbies to get the wrong or dangerous information.

Maybe once you get more used to us, and tolerant, you will see what an awesome group we are.

Try being a bit less abrasive yourself.  You can learn a lot here, and get a tremendous amount of support.

You're lucky all you got was a little ribbing.

What is recommended on the way in by DJ, himself?

Quote:
Familiarize yourself with the message board

It's probably a good idea to watch the Message Board for a bit before you post...

Quote:
Your first post

Now, about that first post of yours. Please share your experience with us. What are your symptoms? How long have you had clusters? Are you episodic or chronic? What meds have you tried? What works for you? If you have a question, try to be specific, it helps us help you.

You paid no attention to that.  Instead you jumped in with both feet and used your first post to tell us that sinus buster sucks, which we already know.  Had you familiarized himself with the message board, you might have known that.

If that wasn't enough, you then turn around and proceed to tell us how we can make our own generic sinus buster stuff.  Why would we want to?  Sinus buster sucks, right?  I mean, you said so yourself.

You even had a handy dandy link ready for us to rush out and buy the stuff to make a treatment that sucks.

You're lucky you didn't get run out of here on a rail.

In the past, this kind of behavior was considered that of a snake oil salesman or at least a profiteer looking to make money off our pain.  The troll poking sticks would have come out and the ladies of the stick would have had you roasted and served up on a platter.

Chalk it up to experience and get over yourself. I have an idea, why don't you try voicing a positive opinion, a positive thread with positive people.

Hi my name is Michael.......
I am sorry that you had to join us......
The people on this site are the most interesting “bunch” of people……
and with such a vest amount of practical know how and knowledge
that puts top neurologist in the “shade”.
And on top of it it’s a very competionet and understanding community
that will help each and every one – no quotation asked!

I don’t know you, nor do I understand your motives…..
I am (sort of) new to this community and new to this condition (CH)
I find your post way out of line and with out merit……….
I have been welcome into this community with open hands and
in a very friendly meaner………… with not only practical advice
but also emotional advice…… and open and understanding “ear”

Dear “Spkcks“ I am not going to condemn you on your post,
I will just ask you to go and read and learn and when you’re done
I would suggest, start again, you still don’t know it all…….. and when
you can say I have seen and learned it all….. then and only then,
you may and can write such an abusive and insulting Post, providing
you are still holding to your (qutioneble) opinion…….

Michael

And if this editor is authentic...

I am here only a few weeks and have begun some genuine friendships....some AWESOME people that will finallly really know your pain.

Look at it as when you start a new job...you get to know who's who...and everyone is feeling you out.  I don't know too much myself yet either regarding this site...I have had my feelings hurt badly...gotten angry...but you know what?  Just like friends...we resolve our misunderstandings by talking like humans.

And  if you truly DO have CH's...and have for twelve years...you should be well aware we all get crabby and resentful and frustrated...but that is what this site is for...others knowing that...and saying "Aw, shut up"...and knowing you're having a bad day/week/month.

Unless you're always this way...it's not going to help you AT ALL.  Almost all of us have been through the wringer....poked, prodded...tried a thousand treatments that made us feel horrible...suffered the side effects of meds that don't agree with us...try again...reintroduce yourself...and see the overwhelming response you'll receive.

Honestly...I wouldn't have the balls to post that!!!  I love you guys....Sherri

I dunno nuthin' and that's my story, but here is his link
http://www.members.tripod.com/had_it/clustermh.htm

I do question things alot when you read down and find out how nifty the so-called medical teams are supposed to be, but then I crumble to the floor and add bits of dog bicuit in my eye, so what do I know?

What I'ld like to know Sir is if you are a sufferer?

I see you are 50, and somehow have only had the symtoms 12 years, which i find a bit odd.

Also you don't seem to have dealt with chronics, which I am NOT...
