Hi again.  I received information from OUCH regarding the   July Richmond VA convention....it looks and sounds great...as far as I know IM GOING..I'll start putting away money now.  I've heard it's great to talk to others with CH'S but incredible to meet in person...I can imagine..and Im not quite as terrifed about going away knowing that when I get hit no one will bat an eyelash.  It's like CH heaven. Any input, suggestions, wisdom...I'd love to hear it... Thanks Sherri

Dahhhhhlink, I am going to be there.  That is all you need for motivation.

And you better be there!!!

(I promise to put my axe away for the week end ... No axe murders that weekend)

Meeting your first clusterhead, in person, is something that you will NEVER forget!  And meeting fifty or more at once is phenomanal!!

Just remember, I am the only sane one .... The rest are nucking futs!!!..

Walk slowly, speak softly, wear quiet pastel colors..........those apply only when meeting Chuck. For the rest of us, just come!!! My wife is getting me a ticket with her frequent flyer miles and is trying to coordinate a business trip so she can come too!

Not only do you not have to worry about getting hit while you're there, you'll have 50 people who know exactly what to do to help you! Without even being asked. I've done two meet and greets, this'll be my first convention, I soooooo cannot wait!!!

How can I NOT go???  I put packets together for my primary dr, my neuro, requested that invitations be sent to them, gave my parents one...naturally my husband cant go...unless God Willing the war ends and he can come home...Ive seen miracles happens...I wish so much he could go...he'd love it and he has always been a great supporter....and it's important to me that the people who have seen me suffer through this for thirteen year chronic...I want them to see and hear from others what it is REALLY like...a few of the above people weren't the most supportive...and Im being extremely diplomatic...I could go as far to say they're total lack of support destroyed my life...and Im working in rebuilding it now...all up from here....I want to put in a good word for my husband and other good supporter....once of most touching things I remember my husband doing is when he found me asleep somewhere in the house on floor after I had obviously had my ass kicked by a hit...drenched in sweat, my clothes stuck to me, my hair soaking wet...mascara down my face...he would lay on the floor with me...and hold me..Thanks to the supporters... Sherri heart

I can't go.  Angry I did make it to the Nashville convention and I'll never forget meeting other clusterheads. It was awesome. Dumbass me ... For some reason, the attacks stopped when I got down there. I had a buddy with me and we were itching to explore downtown Nashville. After a few beers down in the bar, we left the convention and headed downtown. It was packed with people everywhere !! There were guys on the street corners jamming on guitars and banjos !! Every other business was a packed country bar with live music. It was incredible !! We ended up back at the convention drunk as hell about midnight or so. Everyone was breakin up and headed back to their rooms because the bar had closed. ... So, I missed alot of the happenings at the convention  Angry

I'll never forget that weekend though !  Smiley

People I remember meeting ... Woobie ( Hey Woobs  Smiley ), Ramon ( great guy and a hell of an artist! ), Thomas ( super nice guy ... and a big MOFO too laugh ), MAGNUM ( Thanks dude ! ), Alley OOP ( Hi Bob ! ), ZAIRA & her boyrfriend ( pretty lady & forgot his name  Roll Eyes ), And Jonny of course ( thanks for the beer bro, hope I wasn't too much of an a$$ hole to you ... sorry, I was drunk Undecided ). I also met Jason OTT ( the film maker ) and I saw a wedding take place by the pool ... and I was able to see a little bit of the awards! I know I'm forgetting some people too ... Roll Eyes  Must have been those 14 beers !! lol

Have a good & PF time people !!

Sherri, my first convention was last year in Milwaukee.  When I walked from my plane in to the terminal, I was nervous as Hell about being alone, and meeting complete strangers.  I was met at the airport by Brewcrew (Bill), and he had Rickyshot in tow, two folks I had corresponded with  through this site.  I was not just greeted with a polite "hello", I was grabbed in a bear hug and greeted like a long lost sister!

That was only the beginning!  Be prepared to be hugged, kissed - be ready to cry the first time you witness someone else getting hit - it's a humbling experience.  But, when that happens, just watch what everyone else does for that person.  It's awesome.

People who were once my "online" friends, became my family - strangers no more (ummm - with the possible exception of Chuck - he IS a little strange  Grin - but I love him anyway!)

I'm coming to Richmond this year, and can't wait to see everyone.

Sandy,

I am a little nervous about going too...but excited as well.  Like you did, I will most likely be attending alone, meeting strangers, who say they understand... Cry I spent many of these thirteen years taking this ride alone...even when others were with me...they either thought I was just blowing it out of proportion or didn't give a damn whether is was true or not...as long as it wasn't them...and you become accustomed to being treated poorly, looked at like a lunatic or a drama queen... hating experiencing it as much as they hate dealing with it...my husband is a good supporter... I havent seen him for over five days in almost two years though...he just left me alone or quietly put his hand on my neck...he was good at knowing what way to handle me at what times...Im sorry for being emotional...have pms and had a bad day today...from almost the minute I got out of bed...I barely slept last nite...and have been in deep shadow all day...that's starting to lift a little now.. Im nauseated and have alot on my mind..feel overwhelmed...just one of those days...but your email has made me feel alot better...thanks for the kind words, sharing your experience...it really does sound incredible...unbelievable in fact...I just cant wrap my mind around this outpouring of understanding...Im so conditioned to feel like Im nuts or hypochondriac...I pray that knowing all of you will help towards changing that..Thanks Sandy...I needed to hear from you.  Sherri
