Now we have doggie treats added.  These are DRY treats, not moist or in pouches.  I thought we were safe from all of this because our pets only get dry dog and cat food.  apparently, the dry treats aren't necessarily safe either.

Go to
www.sunshinemills.com

One brand that we have been giving our dog is Ol'Roy treats (dog biscuits) private label, marketed by Wal Mart.
There are many branded labels and private labels on the list.

Read the list and check your pantry!

Needless to say, poor old Bootsie isn't gonna get his treats tonight!

I swear you are going to find out that this bad ingredient is one that is always found in animal foods, only this time something went wrong.  Perhaps sombody doubled the batch by mistake.

We have found that a rubber product is used in bonding the food together and is not required to be listed on the ingredients list by the FDA.   It is not required to be listed.....but it is in all animal foods.  Somebody screwed up but you will never be told this unless an ingestivative inquiry is demanded.

I say boycott the dog food companies and cook chicken and rice for your pets... at least you know what they'll be eating.....

Funny you mentioned that.  I've been cooking for my dog since she was 1-1/2, she's now 3-1/2 and it's all due to allergies.

She eats ground turkey, pan fried, with sweet potatoes and peas and carrots.  Also, whiting with white or sweet potatoes and peas and carrots, etc.  No wheat, no beef, no corn.  Plenty of Chicken, potatoes, green beans or peas, etc.  Nothing "pet food".  Her allergies cleared up, but I'm still concerned that she's getting the vitamins and minerals that she needs.

I pulled all the dog food when I heard the first recall. I never have fed mine much Dog food. I blend our left overs for our dogs. Vegables meats, even some fruits. They love egg and oatmeal.

How the heck do you cook for cats? I have tried several recipes for cats mine won't eat it. They like their can cat food.

How about canned tuna mixed with potatoes or rice for fiber, and veggies mashed, such as peas and carrots?  My cat loves boiled chicken and mashed potatoes mixed together with the broth.  I might be wrong, but I think they need veggies, green and orange, to get the minerals and vitamins that they need.

REMEMBER.....onions, garlic, grapes, chocolate and fruit pits are like poison......they injure various organs.

They also need a chew toy to keep their teeth clean.

Edited to add rice...

I'd look up any raw diet for cats online.  I've never really looked into it but I'm pretty sure cats need some sort of taurine to be healthy, and they really are true carnivores, so I'm not sure if they need veggies and rice.

Also, fairly important to look up a good balanced raw diet for dogs too...I know it's pretty intricate to get a good balance for them, good info on the net though.

Me...I'm way to lazy for that...I'd have to cook up a few POUNDS to feed my dog, lol.
