Caleb and I went shopping ....

I have a Dinner from one of the casino's (for my birthday) at one of their "expensive" restaurants, so I was gonna take Buddy out (nice mama thing) and told Caleb Daddy and Granny had a "hot date". Well Caleb decided he wanted to go on our "hot date". He told me, "Granny I'll even wear a "TIE". Ok, I gave in, but he didn't own a tie and kept insisting he WAS going to wear a TIE! We went to Wallyword to get him a tie - which turned into a tie, belt, pants, shirt, shoes, socks, toy, shorts, t-shirt, and a few other "little items". But I digress.... That child HAD to "try on: his TIE (did I mention, he's never owned a tie before) which meant trying on the shirt (and I had to see if the pants were gonna fit.) Well we spent some time in the dressing room and then he had to model for the whole store. I think everyone in Atlanta TX knows he has a new tie and a hot date with Granny. He was grinning from ear to ear and talking to everyone - it's been a long time since I've seen him that excited. Now this is a child who has never gone without anything - has so many clothes in the closet it's unreal and gets this excited over a $7 tie. (wanted to wear it home on his t-shirt). You just never know what's on their little minds do you.... But he's gonna be the purttiest "hot date" this granny EVER had Hugs BD

What a great story! It brought a smile to my face because it reminded me of a similar situation a few weeks ago that we had with our 7 year old Son. I just love the things little kids come up with Jimmers

Gotta admire the kid's verve. Just between us adults on the list, however, the modern necktie serves no useful purpose other than to look nice. When I have to wear one I call it my "leash" for obvious reasons. Thank God for business casual. That said, I hope he has a grand time dressing up. Nothing wrong with wanting to look nice.

JD is the same way, he has a 3 ties that he wears to church. One tie is for play or what ever. There are some days he gets up and puts that tie on. JD recieved a fake shaving kit for Christmas, he gets up every morning, makes his bed, goes in the bathroom play shaves, then brushes his teeth, comes to me and showes me his teeth and says. Are you blinded by the sparkle! Then he gets dressed. I never know if he is going to wear his camafloged outfit or his jeans or shorts. Would you believe he can clip this tie to all those outfits LOL. Shopping days with the grandkids are fun.

We haven't been to the ocean yet, but are saving that for a "fishing" trip. When ya comin' to see us? I'll even COOK lunch THIS time.... How's that for country hospitality? Hugs BD

Sandi -- This is one old Granny who HATES shopping with a passion, but with Caleb it's an adventure... take the godson -- it's FUN... (but don't buy every story --argue with 'em -- that's half the fun). Oh, did I mention he found Granny a "new" beat up Mickey Mouse baseball cap -- "Oh Granny it's sooo cute on you!" It's blue - looks great on me -- who could resist... Fish like baseball caps too.... We should have a "take a kid shopping Week" -- Grown-ups just don't know what they're missing. Hugs BD

Hey, I'm taking the pic while we're on the "hot date" and be assured I'm gonna get it posted (some how). Every morning he gets up and when I tell him to get dressed, he asks, "Do I have to put my dress up clothes on today?" He and his Dad went back to Shreveport tonight and he had to take his hot date clothes and it was storming, so Granny had to put a trash bad over the hanger with the cothes and wrap the shoes in another trash bad and he didn't even trust his dad to carry them to car. Daddy carried him and HE carried the clothes. Kissed me bye bye and said, "Granny I'll see ya for our date." But in the morning Granny is going to sleep till daylight (I've had him since Saturday and Granny is TIRED!). Oh well, date night is a coming. And to answer your question -- Methinks Granny is the lucky one. People should have the grandkids first - I had fun with Buddy, but not NEAR the fun I'm having with Caleb. I'm even thinking of subbing at the school so I won't miss Kindegarten next year.... Hugs BD

Can hardly wait.... It was great talking to you today. You sounded just like yourself. Anyone wanna come for lunch with Matt and me? He's coming next weekend to the Farm and I'm gonna cook... Caleb is the entertainment and we're gonna have fun. O2 is hooked up, ice bags are in the freezer (all geared up for clusterheads). You're welcome if you wanna come see us. Hugs BD
