I was talking to a friend of mine today and was telling her the dogs and I went to the post office and who came by the truck and said hello to the pups and..... it HIT me --- Pick up truck - taking the dogs with me in the pick up truck - people Knowing my dogs names and coming by the pick=up truck to "visit"with the DOGS! (Great guard dogs I've got) This city girl's done gone "completely" country guys! And the DQ gives 'the damn dogs treats. Went down to the fish place tonight to get my "fish fix" and the nice "boy" in there (well his parents went to school with Bill) - his land joins mine - is going to set some pig traps for me and show Buddy how to dress out pigs so they'll taste like something we can eat. Always been a nice boy that Darryl (and his other brother Darryl ) Some things just don't change -- country is country. folks still watch out for each other and still know everything everyone does and everyone's business. Just ask me what everyone's doing these days.. And Matt, I haven't gotten as far as Bivins yet, but if you don't check in pretty soon, I'm gonna have to call you dad and find out what you're up to... Don't make me have to come find you Hugs BD

Sometimes you CAN go back home. Sounds like you're happy to be back, Barbara, and I'm happy for you.

| I spoke with Matt on the phone last night. He is OK. He is on the road with business. His Dad is not doing well. Send your prayers and vibes out for him. Chuck

Barb, I had that same kind of moment yesterday. We moved to this rural town 5 years ago and I still get amazed at the difference in lifestyle here vs. 30 miles north. I had to get a building permit yesterday and went to the building/zoning office to file. In VERY typical Tappahannock style, the door was open, the town government office was empty with a note written on a legal pad sitting on the receptionist's desk. It read: I've gone for the day. If its important, call Jeff or Andrea. LOL I love it here.

My son called last night and he's bringing Gunny (our daushund) tonight (been telling him to for months) so guess Granny's gettin' a nuther doggie up here. Gunny is a digger and he's got 105 acres to dig up (may get a garden yet). And Chuck it's more like Minnie Pearl (Just so GLAD to be here!) -- Haven't even taken the tags off my Granny/Farm/Fishing Hat. All I need now is Arnold the Pig and I'll believe I'm on Green Acres... Told silly son last night he needed to get up Saturday morning (early) and go to the coffee shop in town and have coffee with the "old" guys. He said, "But MOM! I don't know those guys!" I told him, "But silly son, They KNOW YOU! and if you wanna know where to get things done and who to get to do them, just ask your Uncle Milton or Uncle Danny -- they're sitting down there just waitng for you to ask them." Silly boy doesn't even know how things work. And he might find out some things about his mama and daddy that will shock him. Those coffee club guys have known mama and daddy since before he was ever thought of. Good greif -- if he ever went down there - he might find out it's FUN! Sometimes I think he's OLDER than I am. KIDS -- Hugs BD

| You got that one right Tom.... Got a sister-in-law in DC. I'm always afraid she's gonna break if she moves too fast - she's that stiff. She a PHD (Piled High and Deep) and teaches at GWU so of course she's totally politically correct and all that. Hell, I remember when she was a kid and couldn't pronouce "rabbit", but we can't bring that up in front of DR. Henderson these days....(who can't ME?) Now her TWIN brother is a truck driver and didn't forget his roots... he still knows how to have fun. Get out of DC while you still got the time.... Farm Living is the LIfe for me -- Green Acres is the Place I wanna be.... Hugs BD
