I want a drink Dammit!!!

I went for most of this cycle without alcohol as a trigger, but no longer... A couple of weeks ago I realized it kicked back in. The last time I had a beer about a week ago I got punished real good over the next 5-6 hrs, repeatedly. Plus I'm on pred... i guess your not supposed to drink on pred. Is that right? I've drank a 12 pack in the last 3 weeks and haven't had anything to drink for a week. I guess it's a good self evaluation for alcoholism... I've maintained for years that I only drink because I want to not because I need to. And I don't feel like I need to. I'm fine without it... But I sure as hell want to! Especially with dinner! Prednisone is giving me the munchies BAD!!! I feel like eating mexican food 24 hrs a day!!! Mexican food with no beer!? It's right down f#$*ing cruel I say!

Then have one. Just realize that you're making a choice. Taking an action. And actions have consequences. I'd love nothing better than an 18-year-old single-malt over the rocks with a fine, Cuban Montecristo (don't ask me where I got them - I won't tell you ). Instead I have the cigar with a triple espresso. Haven't had a nice, stiff drink in what seems like forever. Because I can't. If I do, I am in for hell. And that means more than just me, because my family gets dragged into it as well. Getting older means learning how to prioritize, and PF is worth more to me than a buzz. If you don't have that much at stake, then you should go for it. All sarcasm aside, I truly hope you enjoy it and that it doesn't cause you any grief. Really.

Well, I had a moment of weakness (or stupidity) and bought a 6pack of stella at the store while getting dinner... Unfortunately I do realize I'm making a choice with consequences... So there sits the untouched beer in the fridge. I must have grown up since my last cycle... It didn't stop me last time. Either that or I'm just a girl thingy. I guess I'll just wait and coincide a drinky or two with my next hit. Like a friend once said, "Drink, get hit, don't drink get hit..." I guess I'm just afraid of an unmanageable "screamer" hit... NA beer still has alcohol in it. I don't know if it's enough to trigger, but I'd be really pissed off if I got wacked off an O'douls!

He he am right there with ya. Bought lots of beer at x-mas, and they stayed in the fridge for 3 months. What u can do, as I intend to, is to have a stiff drink, then when ya feel the hit comes.. inject imitrex.. when the trex kick in u can have some more drinks. Just don't get shitfaced, because if you do, u gonna wake up with the worst hit ever. Anyway this works for me. Am at the end of my cycle now so alcohol doesn't trigger hits anymore.

Oh yeah I got a few custom brews friends made, then a few more been settin about, and bottle of irish cream to polish off when I can.... Once about a week ago I did what you did and tasted the cream, and took a hit, but it was worth it I guess... I don't like the pain, but I feel as if I am telling the thing I don't bloody well care... I'l drink and all you can do is kick my a$$. To me that makes the beast forced to react, and leave me my choices... I like that idea better than just getting my a$$ kicked for nothin'....

Luckily for me, since I went chronic, I can drink. Anything except tequila, no big deal (decisions... decisions). Took a train trip this winter, and the man who took care of our sleeping car gave me 8 bottles of champaign. I still haven't had any yet... I rarely drink anyway. But a nice cold beer(s) on a hot day in May is just the thing. I rarely drink, but it doesn't bother me when I do.How ya been Supa? Long time no see!

I want that beer as bad as you do. Been in cycle for a month now but not worth it to have a beer. I get 1/4 way through a beer and bang....nothing will help, O2, trex. Looking forward to the cold ones sitting in the fridge, they will taste even better when the cycle ends. There not going anywhere. When my cycle ends beer stock will go up!!!

Mexican food without beer or a margarita is cruel and not a good thing but look at it this way...once the cycle is over, that first Dos Equis will taste soooo good, the second one will be even better and so on and so on and so on..........num, num, num

Let's put it this way--when I'm in cycle would I have a shot of whiskey, or would I point a loaded .38 at my big toe and pull the trigger? Both are about equally appealing. Perhaps it's easier for me. I'm not much of a drinker, really, so I don't miss it all that much when I'm in cycle. At the end of a cycle, I usually test the waters by having a beer--if I don't get hit, it's over. Best wishes, George
