Bone Spurs Anyone?

Well I have hobbled around for about 4 months now, thinking I might have a sliver of glass in the left heel, bought new shoes, Dr. Shoals, and tried almost every alternative, after almost getting outrun by my 18 month old Grandson, I decided it was time for the Doctors visit! Several bad Bone Spurs is the problem, I go in on the 21st to have surgery to remove them. I guess the only funny part is the doctors comment about my ability to endure pain. So I guess being a Chronic Clusterhead does have an "upside", seems any normal person would have been asking for pain meds and would have been incapacitated and forced into the Doctor months ago? She didn't seem to understand why I wouldn't take a Prednisone Taper Pack, Hell I don't sleep as it is with all the night time hits, throw in what amounts to Adrenaline and I would be really out of the loop! (Not that I'm not now!) I'm hovering around the 10 hits a day mark now, can't wait for spring and the end of needing the Heat on for the Grandkids! Pappy

I had bone spurs removed from both feet 28 years ago. Not a pleasant recovery period (even at age eighteen) but they haven't come back and I'm glad I had it done in the long run. Best of luck to you and your recovery.

I'll be praying for you, Pappy. Hope you like to read, play checkers and cards because you're going to be sitting for awhile. A foot, after surgery, isn't in a hurry to bear weight anytime soon. Clusterheads really do seem to have higher pain tolerances all-around. I know a lot of people who complain about things that most of us just deal with and keep to ourselves. Sorry you have to go through this too, my friend.

John, I had a bone spur and bone chips removed from my elbow a few years ago and I have to say the surgery was the easy part. Dealing with the pain of the spur and chips before the surgery was the hard part. I know you will be fine and we will all be thinking about you.

Pappy I'm sorry, you have more than enough on your plate as it is without this, at least they can sort it though - make sure they have plenty of O2 ready for you as if anaesthetic hits you like it does me you might be glad of it. Hoping for nothing but good times ahead for you love Helen xx

Bah!!! Surgery? Show them how much pain you can take. Have them do the surgery without sedatives or pain meds, in his office ... heehee ... Sorry, you have to go through that crap, buddy. My best wishes, and good vibes heading out to ya ... Looking forward to seeing you again, in Richmond, cuz you ARE comming, right? Chuck
