Bahamas (cancer) Update

I know, I know - I should have posted sooner but between the time I was gone and till now I have been very busy with work. For thoes who are new, I found out I had prostste cancer in May 2006 and went to the Bahamas for alternative therapy. Things went very well in the Bahamas. When I arrived home my PSA levels had stablized then dropped. This is a good thing. I have to continue with the treatment which consists of 8-12 injections a day  Shocked. I feel great and am keeping my weight on which is very important.  Fortunately for me the beast has decided to cut me some slack and has stayed away for quite a while. I have a feeling that this is too good to be true but every day I have without it is a good one. Sorry that I have been such a stranger. I hope all is well with everyone and it is good to be back.

I run but it stays right my side
So tear me open, pour me out
There's things inside that scream and shout
And the pain still hates me

Oh Jim........that is such good news.  I've been thinking about you and wondering how everything was going.  I am so glad the beast has decided to leave you alone during this so you can focus on doing what you have to do in order to beat this.

Thank you for checking in with an update.

I've suddenly become surrounded by people I know who have either recently been diagnosed or are currently recieving traditional treatments for one form of cancer or another.

So I am more than a little curious about the details of the alternative treatment you are recieving.

Chewy - The goal of this clinic is to boost the immune system high enough to fight the cancer by allowing the body identify the cancer cells and fight them. This is done by using my own plasma and high protine strands that are administered by injection at certain times of the day. The therapy is also coupled with 50 grams of Vit. C given intervenously once a week. I know that it sounds like complete bull shit and I thought that it was before I went down there. After talking to patients and seeing the science for myself I decided to give it a shot. Before I went down my PSA level had doubbled and I had already had my prostate removed (not good). When I returned my levels had stablized and then dropped. I hope that this will be a continuing trend. They do not tell you that they will cure cancer. Their deal is to hold the cancer where it is and knock it back to give a good quality of life. Some people who have gone there have been in remission for years but the clinic does not hang their hat on that. They tell you up front that there is no cure for cancer. I hope that this helps you. If you have any more questions please feel free to ask. - Jim
