I had a real bad attack last night and 4 am this morning, almost went to ER this morning, chickened out.  Wish I would have now, I have felt so darm miserable all day.  How do you decide when to go to the ER, can't reach my doc-its the weekend.

What do you say when you go to an ER, I have before but it was the ER that diagnosed me.  Do you insist on the meds you know work?  I hate all of this.

Hi, I am really sorry to hear that you are being hit hard! Have you got any meds/oxygen at home ? If not try a couple of Red Bulls and ice on the neck and head.

If you do go to ER, tell them the names of your doctors/neurologists, they may be contacted if necessary, and do tell them what meds work for you. As a patient, you have the right to make the request.

Next time you see your doctor, ask your doctor to write a letter documenting your condition and the meds you are taking, what you are allergic to and what meds work the best. Keep this with you at all times.

Hang in there, it will go.

Sending painfree vibes and prayers.

Hi Phil
I have never been to the ER, but if i did go I would demand what works.  They have O2, I would demand that.

Be careful they dont try to dope you up on a pain killer.  For a lot of us, pain killers are very bad news.

Have you tried Imitrex?  What about O2?

Sorry you're getting clobbered.

My suggestion is to sit down sometime and make a card for your wallet with med info, MDs and any good stuff relevant to CH. It should save time and perhaps keep you from being put in the user corner.

I carry a business size card with my drugs and doses listed. I put it in clear packing tape. It lasts forever that way. Since I can't pronounce or spell half of them anyway. Doctors like it.

Duh.  I never thought of that, I have my med info and power of attorney by the door in case of an extreme case, but never thought of that.  Thank you.  I do also keep a list of meds on a card in my wallet and a med alert necklace.

I did go to ER yesterday.  Unfortunately they did make me wait with just oxygen till they were sure it was a cluster even though I told them it was a “normal” “severe” one.  They thought the nausea might of signaled something worse.  Finally when they saw results with the oxygen they medicated me.

I just hate going in.  Its not like I have a severed limb of a man in labor, but I do feel like I am going to die at times.  I guess learn from this and move on.

Thanks
