All ya gotta do for local mail is to reverse the information. We did it as kids all the time.
Used to put Elmers Glue over the stamps too. It doesn't show and the cancellation washes right off. That worked dozens times for my California friend and I that sent cassette tapes back and forth as kids. It was perfect, if caught, you just pointed out that the stamps had no glue so we had to do it.
Such scamps we were.

Well. I thought $36.000.00 was a little high but the SUV is the right color so I dont mind.
