A few vibes/prayers/thoughts/anything

I got a cat scan at 1:45 CST for my kidney stones. I had to get an IV narcotics to kick the pain yesterday and have battled through today. Plus I just got a shadow and got frightened at the thought of a CH and the kidney pain. Anyway, I am OK now and just want to pass this thing but could use a prayer or two.

Oh Frammy, what a rotten time you're having of it. Can they whop the stone with ultrasound or anything to help break it up? I know those things are excruciating and I'm sorry you have to go through that as well as CH. Here's hoping it passes soon for you Helen x

Eric, I will be sending all of the Prayers, Vibes, and Best Wishes I can manage. Next to CH, stones are about the most fun a person can have. I hope they can break them up for you and minimize the pain! Keep us informed, we will keep you in our thoughts.....Tim

Fram, Ow, Ow, owie! That is just miserable! My adult son had to have Mommie care for him after he finally had stones removed! I'm with Helen, has the Dr suggested blasting em with ultrasound? I can't remember why, but Todd wasn't a candidate. Sending vibes to keep the beast away, and fervent wishes that your strainer will be full of stones soon! Cathi

The cat scan showed it is a small stone and getting close tot he bladder. I wont go into further details but it should pass somewhat soon (they think). Keep the prayers flowing though. The size of the stone is good news.

OUCH....... Many Vibes out to you. My hubby went through the same thing. When I was starting having my ch, I asked him what the most painful experience he ever had was and he said kidney stones. Hopefully it will pass soon and you will be pf. P.S. My hubby passed his in a jonny on the spot at a Grateful Dead concert. Funny, but not funny. Well maybe funny now that the years have passed too .

| The proposed things to do for the kind of stones I have are the following: Drink more fluid Limit salt intake Limit oxalates (chocolate, tea, berries, peanuts, beer and others) reduce protein intake eat more citrus fruits keep eating calcium Anyway, this is interesting sincemy last diet I went on was a high protein/loe carb diet and that is not good for kidney stones. So, now I got to really watch these things. I can't go through this again. If I am ever having a stone and even mid range CH at the same time, ................... UGH. Anyway, THANK YOU ALL A TON. I am still in pain but I find if I lie down on the floor I feel better... so back to the floor. Good night all and to a PF tomorrow for all of you!

Owww! I hope it passes quickly for you. Cranberry, cranberry, cranberry! I get frequent kidney infections and I assume that would be in the same ballpark of what helps me out some might do the same for you. I drink a ton of water, cranberry juice all the time and I get them less frequently now. When I start to feel my kidneys begin to hurt I take cranberry concentrate pills and uristat on top of the juice and water (the uristat kinda numbs everything in your kidneys and urinary tract and you can get it over the counter) Hugs and vibes!!!!!!!!!!!

| Interestingly enough "juices from berries" is listed as an oxalate which need to be reduced/limited according to the stuff I was given at the doctor's office. I hear cranberries are great for the urinary track in general, but according to my list, they are to be limited with stones. Kinda weird, huh?

Yes that is weird. How about the uristat? I'm serious about how that after about 1/2 hour of taking them my paine/ache in my kidney area is greatly diminished.

After a second visit tot he doctors office (2 shots of some narcotic) and 2 more liters of IV.... they sent me home with percocet (or go to ER for morphine). The percocet did the job and I think the stone has either passed or is in the bladder wiating to pass. Either way, the horrible pain seems over and if it isn't , the percocet should work better than the vicodin (which didn't work at all). Anyway, all is better... hopefully pain free by evening!
