I Finally Get Some Answers That Make Sense

I started going to my sis in laws Chiropractor whom she has been singing the praises of for months. She also does certified massage therapy and accupuncture. My sis in law told her I suffer from a few different headaches, the main one being CH. I also have TMJ, Migraine, CPH and have had a freaky nag right at the base of my skull they never could figure out the cause of (some days light, some days feels like grandma whacked me with a Louisville Slugger). My POS neuro thought it was 'all in my head' and my GP just refers to it as a daily persistant headache. I get my x-rays doen at the chiro, and was shown what a normal spine looks like: Then she showed my x-ray. My C 1-7 is not curved, but STRAIGHT! And the part of the top that should be pointing downward is pointing upward to the base of the skull. I saw that and alarms, bells and buzzers went off. So, it can be fixed - over time. Luckily my insurance covers it, and so I am going 3 times a week to be cracked and hung. (Hanging is where they put a roll under your neck that you lie on, and they hang weights on your face to try and pull the curvature back into the spine. I get my first accu on Monday (rescheduled from this week). So, for once, I am happy to know what it is, and that it is treatable. She said if I had let it go too much longer, there would be much more disc damage but for now it is minimal. Now if they can just find out why my equilibrium is SHOT and I bump into shit and drop things without meaning to. If it ain't one thing its a motherfu**** Peace, Carl D

Carl, My C1-7 is straight as well, with C2 permanently rotated to the right from the posterior side. C2 is the one that has that little tongue on (Shown in this image as the number 1), it that is what is the part that breaks in a broken neck that is an instant kill. the tonguey thing is pressed up against C1 to the point where one good jar to my neck could "theoretically" kill me by breaking it off. I'm never supposed to climb on a chair or ladder for the risk of falling off and jarring my neck.

Carl, Some people are getting relief from Chronic Fatigue syndrome buy having pressure on their spinal cord relieved. It may help your FM since they may be related. I hope this helps a few of your problems, but be prepared for it to make you CH worse. Paul

| HOLY CRIMINY!!!! I'd be wearing a bubblewrap on my neck if I were you. That's just wicked. | I'm hoping it does something. The main reason I went to her is because she does accupuncture, and I am hearing alot about it helping with arthritis and depression, and heard something on talk radio about accupuncture with some chronic fatigue sufferers. Alot of th FM and CF goes hand in hand with some folks. Clusters, we aren't scared of no stinkin' clusters. Okay, I'm lying about that last line. I'm just happy they have been infrequent compared to where they were, and what is SCARY is, not sure if this is related to getting my neck cracked the past 2 weeks but, I have been getting ALOT of sleep. Something I don't normally do anymore. Peace, Carl If I can ever convert one of my old videos from my band "Zeal" you'll probably guess like I do that doing all those 'helicopters and swivelnecks' onstage probably didn't help.

My neck at the top, through C5 is pretty straight also. I've been going to a chiro for years, starting off at 3 visits a week, now I go about once every 8 weeks. He adjusts me neck, and back. I feel great the next day. I doubt if they can put the curve back, though. Good luck with that. Glad you found something that helps though. It feel good to feel good

I'm fused at C4/C5 and C6/C7 lamenectomy at C7/T1 titanium plate 4 screws (former dirtbike racer) When my neck knots up I use a rice sock i made 1 large hunting sock 1 bag of cheep dried rice 1 pantyhose leg (to cut down on dust) Fill sock ,(pantyhose lined) with dry rice sew up end microwave 2-4 min (depends on wattage) Caution may be hot place on neck when heat is tollerable ahhhhhhhhhhh releif can moisten too but will burn ya if ur not careful rice lasts a month or 2 just unsewew and refill when u fill..leave some room so u can wrap it on ur neck good, size it up before u sew it ,ust hold the end closed while u size.... I love mine I added lavender flowers too I like the smell, its calming (some dont like the smell)

I have a new best friend.......an electric blanket !!!! I don't sleep well and tense up at nite cuz of back/neck/joint crap and would roll or move every few minutes all nite long cuz of pain buildling up. I'd get so tight and stiff in the mornings from all the wrenching all nite long and spasm's that I would wake up feelin like shit !!! I'd have a stiff neck with naggy headache and be so stiff head to toe I could barely get up.....then I'd be uncomfortable all day cuz of spasms and bein so TIGHT all nite. Man that electric blanket sure the hell has helped with alot of the spasms and stiffness.....wow.....I crank that thing up according to how bad my joint/back and neck pain ramps up or spasms are. I feel alot more 'bendable' in the mornings. Helps with the horrific leg aches (cool word ech ?) too cuz I wad the blanket up under and around my knees for more 'heatness' !!! It's not a cure for me.....(not by a long shot)......I got that fun fun fun stenosis shit goin on which is scarey as hell......quick moves can really screw me up......bad !! Hottie by nite Pam

Years ago in S.C. I saw a chiropractor for my cluster headaches. He was an old friend friend from high school and I trusted him to be on the up and up. The X-rays showed that my upper spine C1-C5 or C6 was straight-no curve at all. There was also one vertebrae out of place-kinda cocked to one side. When he did the adjustment and got that vertebrea to move back into place, I could feel blood rushing to my head. Did it help the CH? No. In fact, usually got hit right after a session. Kept trying for a year and added massage therapy in right before the adjustments-sure helped alot of stuff like muscles aches and tension but the CH remained. Interesting-wonder how many of us have this spinal thing? PFDAN y'all kathy
