Recently I have noticed a trembling in my right hand just prior to, during, and after an upper K hit. It seems the harder the hit the stronger the tremors. They can appear as much as 10-15 minutes before the hit, but always during a shadow. In some ways they resemble the tremors my mother has with Parkinson's, but I don't have the other symptoms. Frankly, I'm getting concerned about them. Does anyone else experience this, or am I alone. I've gotta find a new neuro, and cant get in for about three months, and don't have the money for it either, so I'm trying to do some research on my own first to try to limit the expense when I do get in to see one, Thanks, Jerry

I get a tingling in the foot or shin when I am in cycle - mild tremors with that. I think it is probably more related to CH causing extra nerves to fire than anything else.

I've noticed I get a mild trembling during high K hits too, not much though. I tend to agree with floridian, but please, do get it checked out on your next neuro visit. Hope you get a good one.

Hello, I don't remember discussing this issue in some time! I also get serious right side tremors, usually in the right leg first and then depending on the hit, sometimes gravitates into the right arm and shoulder. My tremors developed in about the 7th or 8th year and gradually got worse. or more pronounced, for a better description. In my case: I believe the tremors are a subconscious coping mechanism that allows me to vent pain without effort on a conscious level? That's my story and I'm sticking to it! Pappy

Hi Jerry, Is the tremor on the the same side as your CH ? Is it present only before a cluster hit? Is it still there after the hit? Can you stop the tremor if you try? Is it only on the hand/fingers or is it the whole limb? Is sensation to touch and temperature still normal? Annette

Jerry what kind of meds do you take? I have head tremors. I can't take certain drugs or they cause them to be worst. I don't know if my head tremors are from clusters, or from a mass I have on my adrinal glan. I do know some meds cause them.

I have not had any tremors. I will pray for you to have peace of mind and that you find some good answers to your questions and that it is nothing serious.

Hi Jerry, Sorry to hear you've had this scary new development. Of course, you should get it checked but... Mike gets that too, just so you know. It usually only starts when he's been in cycle for a long time and it's only started happening in the last two cycles. (The last two were his longest ever - thanks to prescription meds - and they were 6 and 9 months, respectively. The shaking started well after the half-way point in both cycles and it did start for him pre-hit as well.) Elaine's right to question what meds you're using. Lithium is a big culprit for giving the shakes. Not fun, Jerry - you are prayed for, my friend. Margi

Thanks for the input! Currently on no meds. Used Verap and Lithium for a while, but that has been over a year ago, and the tremors didn't start until about six months ago. jc

not sure how long Lithium hangs around in your system, Jerry - but it sure took a long time for Mike to get over the side effects from it. A few months, anyway. Still does sound like you should mention it to a doc, even a G/P?

I get the Parkinsons tremors when I've been on the lithium for a couple of weeks. It doesn't vary with headache pain, it's pretty much a constant while I'm at the 1200 mg lithium level. I'd sure wanna see a doc about that just for the peace of mind. Guiseppi

Well Jerry it sounds like enough of us get some form of this so that you should not add to your worries until you can get it checked. I'm kind of glad you asked the question. Saves me from worrying about it. I like Pappy's read on it of course I don't agree with it, but I like it because I know what a gentle soul he is. I vent in much more spectacular fashions .....Tim
