I like it, Char.  Your interpretation captures the immediate visual impression of a concrete bridge of that era--and the "colorless" color of concrete as it ages and weathers--it seems to "mute" light, rather than reflect it.  Almost sepia, but not so yellow.

Outside Boise, Arrowrock Dam (1911) is constructed of just such materials.  When I saw your painting, I was reminded of it.

Best,

Ah! The foreigners put on such airs
Wearing the tangerine suits
And their harlequin eyes.
The pain they inspire
Draws in harmonica melodies
And the feathers of birds
Which flame up at their touch.
It all comes to light in the sheer
Debonair.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.  Well, only the, "I like it." part.

Thanks for sharing.
