Wow! Now that is awesome. The pic of the glass doors reminded me of when I lived in Michigan. There was a news story about a deer that came in through someones glass doors, and FREAKED OUT in the house trying to get out! It destroyed the place and had to be subdued by animal control. They showed the deer on the evening news bouncing off the walls. Kind of reminds me of when a cat got in my apartment and attacked me... ah, memories. Peace, Carl D

Oh Sandy thank you. That was beautiful, magical even. I've never seen anywhere I'd like to be more. I'm absolutely in awe of being able to live like that. I'd never want to travel again. I loved it, thank you! Helen

awesome pictures Sandy, thank you! I gotta admit though - kinda made my blood run cold. Sure, deer are very pretty, all soft and big brown eyes. But...read the disclaimers at the bottom - all very true. They can be SO destructive and, at the end of the day, they are still wild animals and can turn on you in a heartbeat if they feel threatened - something that is TOTALLY their decision, I might add. We may think that patting one of them is a gentle act. Not necessarily always true in a deer's mindset. My mother lived out in the country and the deer often visited. Yes, it's pretty to see them arrive and, sometimes, a relief to see them leave again. No garden can survive a deer visit and dogs and cats don't stand a chance against those heals or horns. I live not far from Banff National Park. It's a weekly occurance to hear of tourists being gored or worse by elk, mountain sheep, or deer here because they (the tourist) thought they were cute and cuddly and tried to get too close. We natives have HUGE respect for these animals and know not to ever mess with them. They WILL always win in a human to deer meeting, trust me!

| Good! That makes me happy. They are beautiful creatures and will outlive humankind, hopefully. When we bought our house, we were surrounded by thick woods front and back, the street on one side and a horse farm on the other. We had deer constantly walking through the wooded areas on our property, and thoroughly enjoyed just watching them from our deck. Then, the powers that be, decided the wooded property behind us should be developed in to a "cluster (no pun intended) community", meaning small single family homes, with zero lot lines, tiny yards. We, along with our neighbors, fought it but, once again, the almighty dollar spoke. The developer came in and literally raped the land of everything - not one tree was left, just bare dirt! Huge oaks - gone, along with the hawk nests built in them, and, of course, the deer. I miss them. Sandy

From our kitchen window. We had coyotes running in the yard this morning. Plenty of wildlife we try to leave unabused.
