Well, we HAD it all set to go to San Diego in Jan. Well that is out the door. I got ito work at 7am this morning to be fired at 8am. Now we are trying to decide if we stay here in Vegas or move. There is nothing holding us here. And well, I grew up i nthis town and I never reall wanted to move here, but the money was good. Now What?

Well wasn't THAT a special Holiday Bonus ..... NOT! Unfortuneately, Helen, Most states in the USA are work at will states, and unless she was union, there isn't really an appeals process.

| So, you took a stand based on your professional comfort level and, in a way, your ethical standards. And you have taken responsibility for the consequences of applying your standards. Not a thing in the world to be bummed about. Well, except the paycheck. But there are plenty of those to go around. Hold your head high and hit the bricks. Chances are you'll find something even better. With standards like yours, that better job is right around the corner.

Tia, I am so sorry to hear this, my friend. Keep you eyes out for the door that is opening, nose sharp for the breeze of change and opportunity, ears tuned to the possibilites. You'll end up exactly where you need to be-and I for one think you need tobe in SD in Jan. Maybe you could go on a couple of interviews while you're there? Hang in there, kathy

Thanks Guys. Well, I think that we are going to be looking for a move. I grew up in Vegas and HATE it here. Shauns Mom lives up in Eugene OR. She has been trying for years to get us to move up there and we never have because I had a good job with pay I did not want to walk away from. So now that that is not an issue... Well we are going to head out of this sespool. Part of me is scared as hell, but my work is the same no matter where I am, just have to know who to turn it into. /hugg.

Eugene is a pretty nice place. Salem being the capital might be a good place. Depending on your job specialty Oregon can be an easy or hard place to find a job. Sometimes the pay can be considerably less than other states. Don't know why but I found it to be so. I only left for medical care. L Skilly

Well I Have applyed for a City Planner position that is open in Junction City OR. I was one of the top candidates for a planner position for Clark County, 6th on the list. So I am hoping that the 7 yrs I have been doing this will get me an interview up there and hopefully will have a job waiting for me when we move. The pay is actually higher then what they where paying here. $50k+ to start. That would be very nice, but we have moving the weekend of SD. oh well, will have to catch the next get together. /huggs Tia

Junction City huh. Just on the flats outside of Eugene towards Philomath. Cost of living isn't bad out that way I'm told. Got to watch that ground fog in the Winter. Take the main drag through town (99) to Hwy 20 take a left. Go to 101 take a right, take a left on 6th. Stop at 6th and High St. Enjoy the view of the Ocean. My front door will be just to your left. Hi neighbor!
