Thanks Lisa and George for your kind words I am very proud of my sons, they are good kids. What really struck me was that here is a boy who literally could have whatever he wished and he goes to a private school where 7 years olds have their own laptop and travel to Paris every year with their families. I guess it shows that kids dont need to have expensive things to be happy and parenting style do play a big role in how they turn out. Peer pressure will get worse in the teenage years but I hope the solid moral base they have from now will help guide them in the right direction. Annette

Wow... I'm amazed. What a great boy you have, Annette! Thanks for the picture. They look just lovely! I used to make a Christmas List as well. It was a lot of fun! And the it's fun to quess what one of two things I would get from that list. Sanna

Annette - your boys are both very handsome and apparently very wise little men. You're doing a great job raising two people that will grow up to care about their world and those around them. Hugs Carol

Thank you everyone for your kind words I showed Edwyn the thread and upon reading it he had this big ear to ear grin then he turned around and asked me : " mom, are all these nice people saying that I did good? " . I gave him a hug and said " you did very good, son" and he bounced away happily. Thanks all for making his day and for reinforcing for him that doing the right/good things will earn rewards that money can never buy: love and respect ! Thank you Annette

Thank you very much everyone for your encouragement We have decided this is how we are going to do it. On Boxing Day he will open his present and will get $36 cash as the first month worth of sponsorship. We will then go online to visit World Vision at their website www.worldvision.com.au and see which child has been waiting the longest for sponsorship. Edwyn will register to sponsor that child online. After that he will save $1 per day from his pocket money to put in a special coin box with the childs name on it. At the end of each month I will make up the short fall which should be $5 or $6, then we will take it to the bank and Edwyn can deposit it into his saving account, where he has the direct debit for the sponsorship. All correspondence will go in Edwyns name and he can write and send the child letters and cards whenever he wants. We will involve Andy in the whole process without pressuring him. Hopefully he will see it as fun and as a good thing to do so that he will want to do the same thing some day. Painfree wishes to all. Annette
