Almost as bad as CH

Last week on Monday I started developing what I thought was a boil on my left shoulder blade, but by Tues of this week it had developed into a carbuncle that was larger than an egg. Tried treating it at home, and got it to start leaking a little bit, but it had grown to over eight heads on it. Linda finally talked me into going in to the hospital Wed morning. The Dr said she had never seen one that big before, and that she could not just lance it, but had to use a scalpel and make two incisions to get it to drain. It's a good thing I'm a clusterhead, cause she didn't think I needed any pain meds other than a very short acting local for the incisions. At one point Linda thought I was going to get up from the gurney when she was squeezing on it, but i restrained myself. That was the closest I have ever come to having something hurt any where near as much as a CH.

It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.
