Here in Delaware....rain coming down sideways...supposed to get more tonight....wind gusts of 50 mph....tornado watches posted all around and the worst weather is yet to come...drove home from a seminar, wind gust hit and the Jeep was blown across two lanes on I-95. I'm soaked, I'm tired and I need a beer  .
Looks like the coast of NC was hit hard. Hope everyone in the NE can stay inside tonight and stay dry...it's dangerous out there so be safe!!

I'm just glad no one was in the lane next to me when I was blown across I-95...would have really ruined my day and their day, too  Don't worry. I'm not putting one toe outside my door tonight but will be ready to head down the basement if the tornado watch turns to a tornado warning. Got a shower, threw on the jammies and am settling in for the night.
Just saw a report on the news....seems that a bunch of people have been camping outside of an electronics store in tents in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania for the last 3 days so they can be the first people to get the new Play Station 3. The reporter showed how these crazy people are still outside of the store during this storm. I have a feeling his next report at 6:00 PM will show a couple of tents blowing across the parking lot

It's been bad here too. The day started ok but by about noon it got so bad I had to turn on the swamp cooler in the garage. Either that or go find a nice cool casino to chill in.

Was in Philadelphia workin at the hospital from 7a-7p. Normally, had my day ended as planned, I woulda been driving on the Short-kill distressway (Schuylkill Expressway) during the worst of it.
But as I was giving report, one of my 3 infants coded. And coded badly. She has a trach - and her trach kinked and came out - and we couldn't get it back in...or 3 other trachs back in...and even putting in a breathing tube didn't help - and she had no heart rate for awhile....got 4 doses of epi down the tube because she didn't even have an IV...i did compressions until someone took over for me and then became med nurse...ENT finally came and got in a trach - and she got through it....but a code...25 mintues down....i dunno how that's gonna leave her.
And I keep wondering if I missed something...if I did or did not do something that led to this code. There is nothing like watching a baby you are taking care of have her trach come out, turn purple, then deep blue, and then porcelin white....I kept seeing the waves of asystole on the monitor as the only reason there was a wave at all was because of the compressions - she had no heart rate for about 6 minutes I think.
I had tears burning in my eyes after it was over. My legs still feel like jello. My stomach still feels not so good.
By the time I walked out of the hospital an hour and a half after the end of my shift, the rain had stopped. The air was full of humidity and thick - everything felt so calm. Wind was still strong and the roads were really wet and covered in leaves, but at least the worst of it was over.
So I escaped the storm outside....was right in the middle of the one inside. And I still don't feel quite right....
