The vessel is being dismantled on the beach today. The hired hands name is O'Dell, has a few teeth left and makes a living installing bumper hitches. I'm giving him $100.00, a 6 pack of Hieneken, and a sawz-all. This will be a spectacle worthy of Wes Craven.

I must have missed it - did the vessel have a name?

THE Sun now rose upon the right: Out of the sea came he, The tide arose, and so the Damned Went down into the sea. And the good south wind still blew behind, The lobsters they did gather, To play upon the Damned's decks Despite the mariner's blather! O'Dell then came--a hellish thing, To work the Damned woe: For all averred, his gap-toothed grin Was slaked alone with Heineken. Ah wretched waste-- we called O'Dell, the boat to slay, Upon this beach of woe! Nor dim nor red, O'Dell approached, The buzzing sawzall uprist: Then all took note, O'Dell killed the boat The jolly Damned in bits! 'Twas right, said they, such boats to slay, Upon which the seaweed hung. The fair breeze blew, the fiberglass flew, The furrow followed free; He were the first that ever burst Into that silent boat. Down dropt the deck, the poop dropt down, 'Twas sad as sad could be; And we did speak only to break The silence of the sea! All in a hot and copper sky, The bloody Sun, at noon, Right up above the mast did fall, No bigger than the Moon. Hour after hour, hour after hour, The sawzall's melancholy hum; So vile a thing--a sunken ship In parts upon the sand. Water, water, every where, And all the boards did shrink; Water, water, every where, Nor any drop to drink. The very deep did rot: O Hell! That ever this should be! Yea, slimy things did crawl with legs Upon the slimy decks. About, about, in reel and rout The death-saw whined at night; The water, like a witch's oils, Burnt green, and blue and white. And some in dreams assur'ed were Of the Spirit that plagued us so; Nine fathom deep he had followed us O'Dell, with saw and Heineken! And every tongue, through utter drought, Was withered at the root; We could not speak, no more than if We had been choked with soot. Ah! well a-day! what evil looks Had the mariner from old and young! Upon this day along this beach, The Damned, torn by O'Dell and Heineken!

Ah! The foreigners put on such airs Wearing the tangerine suits And their harlequin eyes. The pain they inspire Draws in harmonica melodies And the feathers of birds Which flame up at their touch. It all comes to light in the sheer Debonair. (Ellen)

Rime of the Ancient Mariner. Modified to fit the occasion. Blame Coleridge (mostly). Best, George
