Turned a 8.5 into a laugh

Well here is the rest of the story.
Tonight while I was at work I sensed the monster coming on.  I went to the break room took two painpills and chugged an energy drink.  That didn't help.  I had forgotten to bring my imitrex with me.  But, I did remember my "e" bottle.  I had the securityguard get it from my car.  After getting the bottle I made my way to the office, sat down at a chair, and turned the bottle to 15.  After a couple of good breaths I looked over and saw my boss's boss.  He was as white as a sheet.  I told him It's not a heart attack,  I'll explain later.  Once the monster left (about 10 minutes) I tried to explain CH to him.  He was still shaky.  Later in the shift we were all sitting around talking and had a good laugh about how scared the boss had gotten.
I guess that this is just an example how how you can take something bad and find a little laugh from it.

Good onya, Bill.  The worst storms throw the best firewood onto the beach and it got me thinking.

A million years ago, when Chewy was little and before local anaesthetics were as good as they are today, dentists used 'laughing gas' to help patients through the most painful procedures.  Don't know what it was but wonder if there isn't a place for it here.

Who else but us could laugh at an 8.5,

Bill I'm glad you're sticking around!
I'm sorry you had to have someone see you like that but at the same time its brilliant as now the bosses there know EXACTLY what you go through and they will accomodate oyu that much more hopefully.
Good for you for rising above it too! I'm proud of you!  Grin

Bill, immediately upon seeing his bosses boss, holds up his hand in a warning, and as soon as he is able, he yells "Captain, I can't push this thing much further-she might just blow" then he returns to sucking O2. laugh
If ya can't be working, ya might as well be dramatic, right>
I'm proud of ya, and I bet your boss doesn't mess with ya too much, if he did before.

I love it that you were able to do that Bill.

Years ago I turned an 8.5 to 9 hit into something good too.

I went to my Dr. for an unrelated condition once.

While I was in the office waiting for him to come in I got hit and had nothing with me to abort.  By the time he meandered in to see me I was peeling his wallpaper off the walls.   He stood in the door-way watching me trying to push the eyeball to the back of my head, pacing ,tears and snot running down,,well you get the picture.   He went white..and in a while after he collected himself,  asked me what I needed.  I managed to tell him and he sent his nurse for a injection for me and rolled in an 02 tank.

I WAS HUMILIATED.  I was so very embarrassed.

By the time it was over (he refused to leave me)  we started talking. Him asking me questions...me answering every single question.   Before I left..he told me that I could virtually call the shots in my treatment because he knew that I knew more than him and was well informed.  He even asked me to print some things off and bring it in to him next time.

You turned a hit into a laugh.
I turned a hit into the best relationship I could ever expect to have with a Dr.

(This is probably the longest post I've made in 8 years)
