ART Competition

I was sitting here wondering what the beast looks like. Is he a barbaric beast, snarling with dogs breath or is he a devil looking kind of character who is pretty egotistical and arrogant? This got me googling images of devils, demons, skulls etc and nothing did my mental image justice. Nothing comes as close as the OUCH Auction canvas I won yrs ago. Titled 'Just another Headache' painted by Cerebus. I have read many Surveys done on CH.com and it is evident that we are an artistic bunch, So I am proposing an ART competition where you can draw/paint/sketch/computer image your idea of the beast. Then maybe, depending on the owner these 2 could become Auction items. That way by buying the beast, we are helping to beat the beast!! Resubmission of the many images that i have seen over the years, or new ideas welcome. Turts (modified to add) submission of tattoos are an even better idea. Even though Jonnys would be odds on favorites for this particular theme).

O.K. I have looking for over an hour now for the picture that JD drew. We've used it on a lot of things for OUCH but I can't find it. It is, by far the very best representation of "the beast" that I have ever seen. If that ain't art, then I don't know what is. Jonny?Gator? ..someone must be more able to find than I am tonight.

Well--this isn't exactly an image of the beast, except on the frontis at the top, but.... http://theprice.smackjeeves.com/comics/54050/ Some of you may remember that Ellen (my daughter) is writing a story about CH. The first chapter was printed in last month's OUCH newsletter. I found out a couple of days ago that Ellen started a graphics version of her CH story--The Price. There are only two pages so far. (She goes from project to project.) The frontis shows a face that's half Tunvald's--her character--and half the beast. The beast's face is the left-side one--like mine. The figure for the prologue is her visualization of what Tunvald looks like. The last frame on the second page--the closeup face with tearing eye and the cry of pain made my throat a little lumpy.... She asked me later how I'd found out that she'd drawn it and posted it. Nyah, ah ah....parents have ways of finding out what their kid is doing on the internet. I'll never tell. Best, George

Ah! The foreigners put on such airs Wearing the tangerine suits And their harlequin eyes. The pain they inspire Draws in harmonica melodies And the feathers of birds Which flame up at their touch. It all comes to light in the sheer Debonair. (Ellen)
