Oh what a week end!

We got to the race track about noon Friday. Just as we open up the pop up, the bottom fall out rain came down like a water fall. Ya'll would have enjoyed watching Buddy and me. I went to help Buddy pull out one of the beds, grabed and pulled, my hands sliped I fell down right in the bigest puddle of water there was. Everyone had a great laugh. We got the camper together and only half of one bed got wet. We was able to dry it out Sunday. I stayed cold all week end. Friday night the rain and wind blew and the camper shook all night. Saturday we just had to deal with the wind. I was surprized I did not have a cluster Friday night, But Saturday night I had a bad one. No o2 and road it out, thank God we had loud generators and no one heard me. Not much room to walk in a pop up. It only lasted a little over a hour, but I was wore slap out. Sunday was a beautiful day. It was nice to come out of the camper, I was starting to get cabin fever from that little space. Buddy and the others went to the race, I stayed behind and dried out the bed that was wet and fixed dinner for everyone. Sunday night I met another clusterhead. A woman with o2 and one of Buddys customers. We both got hit at seperate times and she shared her o2 with me, needless to say she and I talked way into the night. I told her about this site maybe she will pay us a visit. She was a very nice lady. Buddy enjoyed the race, but the camping sucked this time. I will post some pictures later of my truck. There was a big big section of land that was nothing but mud right behind our camper. We parked our truck right behind our camper to help keep the wind off us. Well about Midnight Friday night a bunch of 4 wheel drive trucks having a ball in that mud hole, and our truck and camper was covered in Mud. That went on till about two. I sat in the camper in fear that one would lose control and come through our camper. The cops finally broke it up. We went and washed the truck Saturday moring and 10 minutes when we were back at camp somone else did it and again our truck and camper was covered. Fred Buddys best friend bought him a brand new camper, Sunday night someone side swiped it. They didn't notice it till this moring. We broke down the pop up this morning, and the wire for the campers break lights was broke, had to go get a replacement before we could head home. I have never been so glad to be home. The next race is in March, I plan to let Buddy read this again then. Hopefully we will stay home and watch that race LOL. I missed you guys and I am glad to be home!

What a kick ass race! Funny how a half pound of air in a tire can make a difference.

Jeff that is true it helps them grip the track better! The race was kick ass. I got to watch the last half on TV at the camp site. Buddy had a great time and loved it.

Such a huge difference between being at the track and watching the race on TV. Even with all of the rain and winds, I wish I could have been there.....I'm so jealous We take the motorhome to Dover for the week and have an absolute blast. We do most of the cooking ahead of time so we don't have tons of dishes to wash since there are no water hook-ups there. Yup, there is a lot of prep work to do a few days before we leave but it's well worth it.

Yup.....been there, done that. We cook most of the food and freeze it. We cooked so much the week before that we didn't have to make dinners for about 6 days after we got home. Guess we had too many "liquid dinners" Had about 10 Army guys camping next to us and we fed them too.

Elaine, If those trucks had started kickin' up that much mud on us, I would have moved the truck. thrown a tarp over the motorhome, and emptied our black water holding tank in the mud that those jerks were sliding around in. Boy, they would have had a big surprise in the morning!
