Love like there's no tomorrow

Dear CH.com family, I moved this stuff from the CalOUCH board because y'all are also my friends and i want to share this with you. A dear friend of ours, Art, passed away Sunday. He was 74 years old and was the absolute most loving, non-selfish, shining person I have ever met. His wife Andrea is so warm and cuddly and she just glows with this love. I don't know if heaven can get better-but it did get better when Artie showed up there. They were a constant source of encouragement for Steve and I through the first 7 years of our marriage. We have hugged and been hugged by the both of them every Sunday (minus maybe 5) for the past 7 years. Never complained about health issues, still don't know what happened. We didn't see them Sunday. Artie died at Mercy Medical Center that day.... If ya think of it, whisper a little prayer for Andrea. She is a woman of incredible faith who has just lost her soulmate. Please pray for comfort and assurance that Artie's home and she is surrounded by her extended family. Even knowing that he is home with the Lord, I am crying. Gonna miss his big ole hugs. LYG Kathy And, by the way, y'all have become dear friends and I love each one of you. None of us knows the number of our days, so treat each day as a blessing and a gift. Peace and pain-free time for y'all, Kathy In an instant everything can change. The lyrics to one of my favorite songs: I want to live like there's no tomorrow I want to love like I'm not afraid I want to sing like nobodies' listening before I lay I my body down... Carpe diem, my friends-and love those you love unreservedly, even if you're busy, even if they live along way aways, mend the bridges, tend the wounds, practice your hugging, and never, never, never stop. Another of my favorite songs... we live we love we forgive and never give up, cause the days we are given are gifts from above. Instructions from God-Love Him and love one another. He said all the laws and prophets and everything else was built on these two commands. Shalom, peace and love to all y'all kathy

As Kathy knows, I added to her thread just last night. Gil and I were to go to the Mediterranean on a cruise with a group of our friends. We should have left 2 weeks ago. My mother has been quite ill, and we have a neice who is getting married in a week, so we cancelled. Yesterday, I met one of my friends from this cruise at the airport. Karen was alone. You see, her husband, Rick, 54 yrs old, having the time of his life, healthy, energetic, developed complications from Diabetes. He was airlifted off the cruise ship and taken to a hospital in Athens, where he died of a massive coronary. The cruise continues, and it will take awhile for Rick to be returned stateside. Karen is in limbo. Kathy says it all. What I want to underscore here is you don't have to be 'over the hill"...........death does not practice age discrimination......grab hold of those you love, tell them, show them your love. Life is short, and Life is good.........make yours sweet, and, above all, no regrets. PF Love to all, Cathi

Kathy and Cathi, our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your friends and families. My Linda called me from work a couple hours ago and for no good reason said " I love that we love each other so much", and then I read this...... Hugs and Love to all of you....Tim

The memorial service was this afternoon...my husband Steve and I both wore hawaiian shirts (cause Artie loved those). We listened to his favorite song-kinda a funky jazzy toe-tapping number about not being really satisfied til he got to heaven. Lots of people got up and said good things-Steve commented on Art's hugs and cool shirts (first time I ever saw my husband speak into a microphone, and yep, he cried). The really cool thing? Andrea, Arts' wife of 36 years, greeted every single one of us with a big ole hug, a smile and a kiss. I want to grow up to be like her. You guys rock!!! And I mean that in a good way P.S. Got hit with about a 5 just as it was time to leave the service and get my son from school. I really think there should be some kinda cosmic law or something against gettin hit inside a church. Love all y'all kathy

Cathi, You are so much in my thoughts today. For everyone's information-CATHI was the first person from clusterville to contact me...she called me on the phone! I was totally blown away. Cathi, you have a heart the size of, well, friggin Texas, girl, and a smile that'll brighten the darkest of places. I love ya dearly and I am so sorry to hear about your friend. We really don't know the number of our days. I hope you've got at least 1 bazillion left! Love ya my friend! kathy P.S. Oh my gosh... this is starting to get, what's the word?, mushy. Sorry. Maybe this will help.
