We're having Cornish Pasty tonight. Yum!! I made up a batch on the weekend and threw some in the freezer. I've learned from my British Heritage husband that it's pronounced: "PASS-tee", not "PAY-stee". Apparently, the second pronounciation means something entirely different, it's not necessarily Cornish and you sure as HELL won't be serving them at a family dinner!

I love liver, but can't cook it worth a darn. My little Caleb ordered Granny to make Chicken and Rice tonight, so the chicken is cooking now. Guess we're having chicken and rice. He's also wanting "Sweet potato chips". Anyone ever heard of them or how to make them. Apparently they had them at school. Maybe I'll just call the cook at the school and see what he's talking about. Finally figured out the "Fried Carrots" he wanted were actually fried sweet potatoes. That only took about 100 tries till his mom finally decided that might be what he was talking about. After I did that, he looked at me and said, "See Granny, I knew you could do it!" Oh well, better get to the kitchen. Ya'll have made me hungry. Hugs BD

A little healthier way. Cut them thin. PLace then in a big zip lock baggy with lots of air in it and 1 tsp of olive oil and shake them around until they are coated. Take out a cookie sheet, grab foil and crumble it up then spread it out on the cookie sheet. Spread out the chips. Sprinkle with salt and back at 350 about 20 min, turn over and cook till crisp.

Liver is an aquired taste. Chances are if Mom didn't make it when you were a kid, you won't like it. p.s. I love it Steve

Sweet and Sour cabbage (made with separated chunks of cabbage, chopped onion, vinegar, sugar, water and stewed tomatoes, thickened with corn starch) with meat balls, over mashed potatoes. One of my all time favorites!
