Michael,

Good luck with your culinary efforts.

For dinner ideas, I consulted the 5-year-old next door and told myself that we would have whatever he suggested.

We're having gum.

I recently had an oatmeal pie that tasted like pecan pie but with oatmeal used instaed of nuts.  Im not sure how they made it, but it was very good and my wife who liked pecan pie loved it.  Maybe you can find a recipe for it?

Cornbread...... nothing wrong with that!

Michael,

Talk about wild...  You must have been reading my mind in the chat room yesterday morning when you, Jean, Svenn, and I were talking about food and Svenn sent the link for making Smalahåve.

I picked up a 2 lb bag of pecans yesterday with the thought of making a pecan pie too!!!  I passed up the corn syrup in favor of making some caramelized simple syrup, as most of the corn syrup today is high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). I’m not a health food freak but have avoided HFCS for a number of reasons with the biggest being HFCS is very hard on the liver.  More on that at http://www.westonaprice.org/motherlinda/cornsyrup.html

Getting you the pecans at this point is a bit difficult, but the pho pecan mix made out of oatmeal sounds reasonable. Bon Appetit.

You love lots of things if you live around them. But there isn't any woman and there isn't any horse, not any before nor after, that’s as lovely as a great airplane. Man has one virginity to lose in fighters, and if it is a lovely airplane he loses it to, there is where his heart will forever be.
