Any UFC Fans?

Been heavy into it for a few months now, and if ya got my number... LOSE IT on thursdays from 8-10pm because that is UFC Unleashed / Ultimate Fighter 4 night (okay, if ya NEED to call ya can Wink

I've called the winner of the last 5 pay-per-views in a row (Matt Hughes will always get my vote) and when Hughes took down Royce Gracie, I was like "FUCK YEAH!"

I called the fight between Hughes and BJ Penn as well. That one was close though, as Penn had the first two rounds and the fight was nearly stopped when Hughes was accidentally poked in the eye. I can imagine tht enraged him enough to win that fight!

And now Oct 10th.... Ken Shamrock is preparing to take another beating from psycho Tito Ortiz. As much as I like Shamrock and admire his heart... and as much as I think Ortiz is a cocky bastage who needs some humbling... if I were a betting man, my monopoly money would be on Ortiz. The most awesome thing is Spike TV will be broadcasting the fight LIVE - and it will not be a pay-per-view!

This question I proposed a few months ago pissed off some of my friends who are WWE fanatics:
How do you seperate the men from the boys? Let the kids go to their room and watch the fake stuff... and the men can watch the brutalizers!

And... Ultimate Fighter is about the only 'reality tv' show I can stomache.

Peace,
Carl

I am absolutely a UFC fan. I thought the fight between Matt and BJ was awesome and like you I bet my money on Matt.
I don't know why Shamrock is fighting Tito again. Tito is cocky but I don't really like Ken either. I don't know they fought to much on the Tv show. I lost a little respect for them both. I will be renting that fight. I paid for the last one and was so mad that the fight only lasted freakin 1 min!
Now here's a surprise for you... I'm a girl and I wouldn't dare miss the UFC fights if I can help It. My husband has all his friends over we drink beer and i make chicken wings. I will talk UFC with you any time my friend.

I've been watching UFC fights for years. I still watch them and like watching them ... but it was much better when it all began. No weight divisions, no time limits, no rules (except for biting) ... 2 men go into the octagon and 1 emerges victorious !! Now that was fighting !! I watched a few fights that lasted damn near an hour !! I've seen alot of the fights and will continue to watch.

PS. I think Ortiz is going to woooop up on Ken too! I guess we'll see. I was stunned to see Gracie lose. He and his family was the ones to start UFC and Royce won the first few championships. He's still a badass in my book!

The October 10th fight with Otiz/ Shamrock is free. It is on Spike TV network. My boss and I had that as our designated beer night but, he stopped drinking and I am watching it right now as well. But I have to ask... if your a girl watching UFC with all of the guys... How do you deal with that much testosterone pumped in one room?  Grin

Gracie is a legend, and it was a big upset for some when Hughes beat him... but I somehow seen it coming. My boss got copies of Gracie's "Jiu Jistiu Basics Training" dvd's and I started getting into them this year as well. Still on "Passing the guard" though, which is part one.

Oh and and Newbe... here's a helpful hint: About 4-6 hours after the pay per views, go to www.youtube.com and look for the fights. Someone always posts the main event, but the last couple were pulled within hours of being posted, so you have to get to it quick.  Wink

I'm right up there with the guys yelling and giving advice to the fighters! I just love the energy and dedication these guys have. All of my girlfriends think I'm crazy. Thanks for telling me the fight is free. At 45.00 bucks each time theres a "big" fight, it can get expensive.

I LOVE UFC!  One of my good friends was Matt Hughes' wrestling coach in college.  They still talk every once in a while now.  Matt Hughes only lives about 30 min. away from me.

And I like Tito better, at least he kept his mouth shut during the show (Ultimate Fighter).  He didn't try to start crap like Shamrock.  Tito is a cocky SOB though.  But at least he has the stuff to back it up when it comes to beating up on Shamrock!

Go team PUNISHMENT!

If BJ Penn trained even slightly he would have submitted Matt Hughs.
He was so gassed after that he was bound to take a beating.

It definitely was better yet not as marketable in the old days.

Now it is pretty kick ass too but is quite the legitimate sport if ya know what I mean.
