Having worked for a GM dealership for ten yrs i watched this whole toyota story building up. Gm refused to take them as a threat and instead of giving the customer what they want as Toyota does rhey give the customer what they think the customer should want. costly way to do business.

There in lays my point.  I can't parallel park for shit, and when in my routs too and from the office a number of times daily to call on my clients, I'm faced with azzholes who are doing just this on a one way street with parallel parking on both sides.  At least with this technology, the correct blinkers etc. are engaged to warn approaching traffic that a park is in progress, and not just just some idiot with no idea there is a rear view mirror there for a reason stopping dead in front of you and you slam on the breaks and close your eyes in hopes that UPS/ Fed-Ex/ (insert huge corporate semi here) truck behind you can see you in time not to rear end you.
