Bad time for my family

Please send some good vibes my way. My ch cycle is being controlled pretty well but the side effects from the meds are making me a physical and mental wreck.(but that's another story) Wednesday my wife was let go from her job. She is a graphic designer and has been at the same co. 11 years. The owner admited that she is the only reason the company stayed in business for several of those years, but now he can get someone for less money, but the real reason has to do with the other owner only wants people from his church to work there. I work at the same place so this is going to be very difficult. I may be next to go. Luckily our insurance is in my name so we are not losing that yet, but only if I can keep from beating the shit out of these ass holes. two thirds of our family income gone and I am not in the mental condition to deal with this in a rational way, although I do know many here are in much worse situations than I am. Thanks for listening Big Guy

Wow, Big Guy. If that doesn't just suck the chrome off a trailer hitch. Sounds like this other owner is a regular practice what you preach type. Take refuge in the fact that the one thing he CAN'T do is change who you and your wife are. Make it your mission to prove this butthole wrong. I don't know that there's much I can do for your situation except tell you that you and your family are family here. Whenever you need to rant, come here and do it. If you need advice, we're pretty good at that. If you just need a place to vent, we've got good ears, too. Hang in there, and keep us posted. After all, we're family. Bill

I'm sorry, big guy. What kind of church is it? If it isn't a cult, maybe you could join? 9Just kidding-sort of) Hang in there. I am sorry that they threw away a valuable person like your wife. I know they will regret it. Hopefully, she can get a job where people appreciate her. I'm sorry about the crap. Tell her we love her. Charlotte

Look at it as an opportunity. Have your wife update her resume and paper the Job Wanted bbs with it. A day shouldn't go by without calling for or about a position. You can feel sorry and folks can (and will) send good vibes, but that will not bring in the bread. Like CH, shit happens. I've been there so know what its' like. It's not easy but try like heck to make the most of it. The alternative is not acceptable. I'm pulling for you and yours. Max PF time to you.

To your corners boys and stay there until you can come out and apologize to big guy for taking his thread and making it about *you* instead of him. That being said.... on Sep 21st, 2006, 6:49am, big guy wrote: The owner admited that she is the only reason the company stayed in business for several of those years, but now he can get someone for less money, |
| Okay, does your wife have any kind of contract with this company that would prevent her from contacting any of the businesses that use her *previous* employer for their grphic needs? If she doesn't, she could always contact some of the customers that she has a good relationship with and try and freelance some work out. She could freelance until something permanent came along. It's scary right now, been where you are. Beat this before it even gets a chance to get you down. Don't know if any of this will help, but it damned sure can't hurt. http://www.indeed.com/q-Graphic-Designer-l-Tennessee-jobs.html http://jobs.nytimes.com/js.php?pp=25&pbt=nytcategoryarts&cbt=Gra phic%20Design;view=2;qlookidu=national (page 2) Monster.com and numerous sites are available. Good luck. 'darlin

Big guy, I'm gld to see so many people participating. You know what we all mean, don't ya. We love yo & your wife. Things are crappy. We don't want you to lose what you need, & we want this opportunity to work out for the very best, and we want your wife to know we are behind you. No, that won't pay your insurance or put the food on the table, but it is a different kind of food offered, and we need all kinds. How is your wife doing? Charlotte

Hang tough, big guy. Hope things work out for the best for you both. Sending good vibes to you from Idaho. Here's hoping the rectors (not exactly the word, but close) at your place of employment discover just how asinine they've been. May they develop persistent toenail fungus. Divine retribution. Best wishes, George

WOW, Thanks so much for all the good wishes. I know things will work out for the best, especially with all the encouragement from our family here. We stayed up late talking last night so I got hit with a kip 5 at 2am this morning but hey, the insurance is paying for the imitrex so the CH was "shot" away quickly. As an update one of the companys largest customers allready sent our boss a "are you out of your mind" email and is threatening to pull all of their business. They and several other customers have contacted my wife to say we want to keep our business with you, not your former company. This may turn out to be the business opportunity we have dreamed of for a long time Thanks again for all the encouragment, I can't express what it means to us. Big guy
