I just got a call from Ian Baird. He is my former bass player from '92 in Zeal (and is a phenom musician). He now plays in Spring Clock Wonder and The Glare of Day. He is also on board as the drummer for Black Blizzard if I can ever get a singer. He also does a podcast and internet radio show. Long story short, he has been rotating my song "Within" on there, and asked me if I would be up late tonight to do an interview with him. Mind you, he is getting listeners from all over the fricken WORLD (he named off where alot of subscribers were) and getting lots of requests for independent stuff! He dug the song off of my music page and started playing it (it reached the 400's on audiostreet.net where I host some of my music). He asked what I'd like to wrap about for an interview. I told him, "Well, The last FORMER song recorded was "Within" and It's been just over 5 years now. I'm resurrecting with new material that should blow away anything that Former has ever done before. This one is gonna be heavy and dark." We chatted about a few other things and he is a longtime bro who knows my history. One thing I told him I want to mention is cluster headaches. He told me "Absolutely" and so... not only is this something to maybe pull me out of the proverbial musical grave I feel enclosed in - But a golden opportunity to talk about CH on a podcast going out all over the net! Once he gets things set up for his night broadcast, he is going to message me the link so I can post it a few spots, and he will call for the interview a bit later on, then play the song. I'll post the link for any late niters who may want to check out his show. Of course, we have to plug the old Zeal band. We were way ahead of our time and had we not broken up... I'm FREAKING!!! ***to add... I can talk about CH bigtime, as the whole theme of the disc "FORMER - The Loss of God" is all about clusters. ****I was nervous as hell, as if ya can't tell.

Not sure if you could tell but... I have a cold, and was slightly nervous... but pulled it off! Didja catch when I was talking about the concept of "The Loss of God"? - I gave CH.Com a plug. Former is officially resurrected.

I recorded some of it via my stereo, and the puter kept locking up, so I have portions of the interview I will transfer to puter and post for anyone who wants to hear it. This is just the first podcast he is featuring me on. He wants to put me on the air again soon. I have to get a song recorded somehow. I already have the first one ready to go, but this puter is screwed, the one I just got is screwed, so.... trying to 'unscrew' what I have and make a go of it. I wish I could have got the setup for the song, because "Within" was recorded out of frustration of my first couple years chronic. It was cool to be able to tell what the song was about. Still sitting here going..."Did that just happen?" Stoked, Carl D

Here is part one of the interview. I got squeezed between NIN and Queen. Good company. It cuts off midway, and I talked a bit more about clusters and setup the intro for "Within" and explained how it was written out of being chronic, etc. One part of the interview I don;t have (My puter locks up bad, thus why I cannot record on this) he was ranting about when we were in Zeal, how I had got into sweep picking and learned bizzare scales... I was kinda embarrassed the way he ranted. It was cool (glad some peeps got to hear it live). Anyway, here is part one. Sorry for the poor quality but my soundcard sucketh. http://media.putfile.com/Interview1-24
