...I had my last hit. I started taking my prescribed Sansert, and after two days of some really disgusting side-effects, I have been hit-free!

I have a call into my neuro's office because he told me to call him once I had been hit-free for one month. We will discuss which of the three preventatives I will start tapering off of.

There are little tears of joy welling up in my eyes as I type this. First time since mid-January. Best thing about it - sleeping through the night.

Just wanted to share a bit of my happy heart today.

What the hell are those, Jean? Dancing marshmallows? Maybe fondue pots? Doesn't matter - they made me smile. Grin

Seriously, thanks everybody for the kind words and wishes. I'm more and more convinced that it's not the pain of each individual hit that weakens us - it's the constant battle, the lack of sleep, and the demoralization that takes the most expensive toll. When any of us gets a break, a time to recharge the batteries, it's time for us all to rejoice.

I'll keep all y'all posted on how it goes.

OMG - Chris Farley as Barney, the Chippendale dancer. One of my favorite SNL skits of all time.

Short story - I took a day off two years ago and asked my then 12-year-old son what he wanted to do for the day. He said, "Let's go to Madison and find Chris Farley's grave." We did, and we found it. Both of us standing there in silent awe, so many SNL reels playing in our heads. It was one of those father/son moments not to be forgotten.

Thanks for the kind words, and for the memories, Carl.

Update #1 - Talked to my neuro's nurse this afternoon, and the first step I get to take is to cut my verapamil dosage from 480 mg/day to 240 mg/day for one month. If still h/a free, cut the verapamil altogether. One bridge at a time.

You guys are the best.

Hey, Brew......what'd ya have to go thru to "Score the Goods," as it were, since it's out of production in the US?
(You may have explained this elsewhere, but I have the attention span of a gnat.)

Well, you and I are cut from the same cloth, my friend. I did discuss it elsewhere, but I haven't got a clue where. Grin

I scored the first month's worth at the following:

http://www.pharmawebcanada.com/

Then I found out that my insurance company (Cigna) has its own in-house compounding pharmacy (Tel-Drug). I paid $124 for the first month's supply (of which Cigna will pay half since it's an out-of-network pharmacy). When I go through Tel-Drug, they make it up themselves and charge me $75 for a 3-month supply.

There are compounding pharmacies all over the place - that may be the route you need to go. It'll come with its generic name attached: methysergide maleate. If this doesn't work for you, Canada is still an option. Good luck, and feel free to PM me if you need more info.
