Today is my first day (UPDATED)...

...at my new job! My first shift begins at 3pm my time (1pm for my pals in UK, and my pals in US, add about 7-10 hours to your local time, then you'll know) and I'm heading back home at 8.30pm. I know that the first two hours are all about just training. Then it's to the action and calling up innocent people at their home and reaching them over cellphones wherever they are... But I'm kinda excited, though. I love talking with people! I love interviewing! So that part should be OK. The trouble is, naturally, to get the people to spend 5 to 30 minutes talking with me... We'll see how that will go. But I'll be doing just that from tonight until Christmas, 3 days/nights a week. I think that night shifts will be harder for me, because I'm more of a morning person, so I'll switch myself off the night shifts asap. I just have to start doing the night shifts; apparently that is easier in the beginning. Anyways, if I'm not totally tired afterwards, I'll log in later on to tell you all about my first day adventures. If I am tired, you'll just have to wait until tomorrow... Everyone, have a great, PF day! Best wishes, Sanna

Ok, my first day is behind me... It went better than I imagined it to be. I got couple interviews done, which is a great start! I had 2 hours of training, but that should have lasted a lot longer - especially, when there were NO supervisors left after 5pm (me & 2 other new people begun to call people ten to 5pm), there were just us, callers, 7 all together, which is unbelivable... They didn't even tell us who is in charge/who to turn to when we need help! They simply locked the door to the other office without telling that to us newcommers! The computer system itself is idiotic - too many things can go wrong too easily. But no mistakes, yet. BUT the people, my co-workers and those I called, were very nice. EVERYONE I called behaved kindly, which was a smooth start. I was expecting that some are rude, but apparently people turn you down nicely when you're not selling stuff (been there, done that), but asking their opinion. Well, today at least! The office itself was COLD, so I must wear warmer clothes tomorrow. And I did get hit... Twice. But it was kip 2s and the tabs I had with me took care of them. I blame new job jitters/stress... Anyways, I'm happy with my first day. I'm getting to know the system and I've worked out my dialogue now. It will take time before using the system will become a routine and when I'll get used to the night shifts, but I'll get there. Thank you all so much for your well-wishes! Best wishes & PF days to all, Sanna
