Hi all,

In the spirit of Opus's post, here's another person I ran across a couple of months ago.

Take a look.  Is he one of us?  I haven't communicated with him yet.

See his home page also at:

Best,

Ah! The foreigners put on such airs
Wearing the tangerine suits
And their harlequin eyes.
The pain they inspire
Draws in harmonica melodies
And the feathers of birds
Which flame up at their touch.
It all comes to light in the sheer
Debonair.

Well, I don't agree with this part.

Just my 2 cents worth.

frequently a cluster would end with a Big Bang -- one especially long and severe headache (sometimes lasting up to 12 hours).

That's one hell of a migraine.

Sucks but once again.........

For such a seemingly intelligent person who is obviously a talented writer he sure is misinformed.
"Cluster-migraine"?

Is that anything like being shot by a baseball bat?

I don't know if he has clusters or not, but in his defense, if you look, his article is based on information that is at least 20 years old and "experts" I had never heard of until reading it.

3. Modern Medicine, April 1986, p. 68.

4. Aches & Pains, Nov. 1981, p. 32.

If he does have clusters, he may appreciate some updated information - presented to him in a calm, tactful and informative manner.  It would do us no credit to launch an assault on him or his writing.

"Cluster-migraine"?

Back in the 70's most of the literature described them as cluster migraines, so if his reading material is dated, thats plausible. And I too remember being up with for hours where nothing was working until I went to the Er and a shot of demerol put me out. That was also usually at the end or near the end of my cycle. yes, it sounds like clusters to me......not sure about the morphine helping, but who can figure out clusters.
